Looks sweet! Your fronts will break in faster if you do a trail run with your back shocks really really rigid. Like replace your shocks with links lol. Or limit them a lot. That will force the front to be the path of least resistance for the flex to flow through. Ya know?

The truck is looking really good. The wheel and tyre combo is sick.

Looks awesome! I've got a different chassis but would love that front bumper! I'm going to shorten it slightly (chassis) so the leafs sit under the body and not poke out like yours.

Can't wait to see what's next!

i think the fact it WASNT a hilux was the main reason i wanted to build this rig..
there are some SERIOUSLY scale lookin yotas on here tho that make mine look
like a tonka toy! thanks tho!

thanks sin! the bumper is 3 pieces of 1/4" tubing with a winch plate all brazed together, took like 10 minutes... i like the way it looks but i want a place for aux lighting so i may just make another one..

as for your leafs, have u tried doing a shackle flip to put the fixed point at the front? i would do that but i dont want to change my wb or redo all my body mounts. it would tuck my axle back and take away my approach angle.

so THIS is whats next..
i got sick of the way the shackles were outboard on the axial chassis.
the wider springs seemed like the axles didnt have enough leverage to flex the springs and i just didnt like the overall look..
so i grabbed some of these:

you may also notice i swapped my draglink from the top of the springs to under.

i found that the tie rod was contacting the servo horn limiting my up travel on the driver side. after getting that situated i found a second benefit of the
GCM mounts, they allowed the shackles to travel more parallel to the mounts.
gave me more of what im into any way, DOWNTRAVEL!

Looking good. How did you mount the body to the chassis?

i used velcro on flattened body posts and on the front of the bed.

for the bed i put 4 screws into the cross member

pretty sturdy..

Thanks guys!

The body is an OLD one distributed by discovery channel..
It's the Steve Irwin crocodile hunter body.
My thread has gone a bit stale recently cuz I'm on holiday
In south Florida..
Ill be back at it soon! Perhaps a divorced setup so I can run an
interior...

I really like what you've done with the croc hunter! My kids had the radio shack version which I'd like to transform into a competent RC. What differences are there between the Croc hunter you have and the radio shack version?

Cheers
Doc

UPDATE!
Through some other random search I ran across pixelnate's thread where he details the difference between the two crock hunter RC's

love it!
After seeing this I will look at doing mine again.
I was pretty bummed about how small the body is but those dingo flares straightened it out.
