So Im having a bit a delima at the moment. I picked up a set of 1.9 iroks and after getting them home I realized they are way to big for what I'm wanting. I've heard of using a 1.5 tire on a 1.9 wheel bit will this reduce the diameter of the tire? I really want to run the iroks but even the 1.55's are too large I'm thinking. I need a tire around 4.1-4.25 od, I already spent money on new wheels. Any ideas?

well guess i should have this moved to the 1.9 section. I ordered a set of black axial beadlocks, had Mthead make me a set of rings and ordered a set of 1.7 iroks to put on the wheels. Did a little research to make sure it will all work. Pretty excited about the combo, hopefully it works as well as i hope. I also ordered a set of 100mm scale dual spring shocks, and a set of 80mm dual spring shocks for the rear. Now im just waiting on parts to show up, my front three link truss with the built in panhard bar mount should be here this week sometime so i can finish up my links and get the titanium ones ordered up. Hoping to have it driving by end of Jan. Merry Christmas hope everyone has a good holiday.

Goodies showed up in the mail today, my front three link truss and panhard mount, my new axial wheels and the dink rc fuel cell to hold my electronics. Shocks will be here Friday and my tires hopefully tomorrow. It's starting to come together.

Axial black beadlocks, 1.7 iroks, McMastercarr.com hardware and Mthead pl-18 rings. Looks pretty sick IMO.

Tires and wheels mounted up. Decided on yellow body with all the metalwork satin black planning on having the wife make a soft top for it for those cold winter snow runs, also considering half doors.

Made progress on the body armor today after finishing up my front suspension. Shocks will be here Wednesday so I will be able to build my rear towers and set everything up. Still need to get a steering servo and finish that up. I used 6/32 rod for temp links so I can get my lengths right.

I'm thinking my upper link is still a hair too long but other then that it cycles good with no binding, but I need the steering servo mounted before I can be sure.

Here's the boat sides/ rocker guards I bend up today. Mounted them with a piece of 1/2x1/2" aluminum angle and used some small machine screws to mount the body.

This is what I'm shooting for as far as ride height.

Ok I've got an electronics question, I'm planning on running a 2s lipo to power this beast. Running a 27t axial motor, ae-2 esc, and a hitec 5645 servo. I've been reading that most guys use a bec. I'm a little confused on if I need one as the stock axial doesn't use one. I might just to a 3s lipo or two 2s lipos. Im still learning about the electronics so any info and help would be awesome.

It be advised. Axial doesn't provide one because of the cost to them probably and also they aren't using a power hungry servo. The cost of a bec beats buying a new servo or esc any day.

Sitting at ride height, about 2 3/4" at the lowest point in the chassi.

After playing with some different springs, I decided To run losi mrc spring on the rear and the stock dual rates in th front. Rear seams a little soft but I think it'll work great. I'm getting about 4" of travel out of the suspension

I also got the tranny mounted. Just need to finish up the other side of the mount but I'm pretty happy with it.

I have a full roller ow, used wild boar drive shafts from a wraith, cut down in the rear for the right length. I had to rework my panhard bar to the rear of the three link truss because of my steering servo. After some serious head scratching I got the servo mounted. The draglink need a little more adjustment to it but it seems to work well and has almost no bump steer.

Tomorrow I'm going to try and get my electronics roughed in, then I just need to get the cage mounted and rebuild my front bumper. Also need to build a rear bumper. Still trying to figure out what I'm going to do in the rear bed area.

Never ran it before, I copied the drivetrain in ser3100 first tj. He might have a better idea. From what I understand he ran a 35t motor I'm running a 27t.

Having some trouble deciding on a rear bumper/ spare tire carrier. Haven't found one I really like. Any thought on just not running a spare?

Newbright, axial, and proline JK's are wider than the newbright TJ's, so the bumpers may be too wide.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm just not going to run a spare it looks rather goofy having a scale 40" tire hanging off the back of the jeep. I built just a simple flat bumper. Not fancy but it'll get the job done.
