Weapon's Hilux truggy

well I had these parts sitting doing nothing.
going to try and do something similar to Unglewd's "SCX truggy"

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps71ca6953.jpg

http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps4e7d99d4.jpg

going to lower it as soon as I find some SCX-10 shocks.
and it will have 1.5 rock stompers on it.

Re: Weapon's Hilux truggy

Lots of progress tonight
New axial shocks installed
Links sorted out
Body mounting finished
1.55s swapped from the camper (its getting the new white spokes and new stompers)
http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...psc4672102.jpg

Still figuring out the wiring and battery mount
I will probably use the space under the fuel cell for some electronics and box it in with styrene
also need to figure out a good mount for the offroad lights still
I cant decide if I care about the huge gap between the cab and the "truggy back"

Re: Weapon's Hilux truggy

Well after making links and fiddling with wheelbase I decided I was too invested so I filled in the gap instead. .

What are those silver things on your shock hoops?? Magnets? Were did ya get them from? Great idea!!"thumbsup"
Looking good!

Weapon 04-04-2013 08:50 PM

Re: Weapon's Hilux truggy

Thanks! its the easiest truck I have to change a battery in, yet the cab is nice and secure.

rare earth magnets I got a bunch of them from a buddy who installs alarms, not sure of the exact application but pretty sure he uses them for work. they come with a nice countersunk hole already.

Do you like that light kit? I have heard mixed things about it. I was looking for the most realistic one possible.

Weapon 04-05-2013 05:27 PM

Re: Weapon's Hilux truggy

no its junk but it was cheap. You want realistic get a custom controller from HeyOk. You can pretty much pick your options, brake lights that work when you let go of the throttle, brake lights/running lights, turn signals, reverse lights etc.

Re: Weapon's Hilux truggy

No, nothing. I bought a motorcycle this summer after years of not riding, and its been dominating my free time. I will pick up again in the fall, and finish the other projects that have been sitting idle as well.

Yes it does I will tell him you said.
