| Millsous' Defender 90 build
Well I've decided to build a hard body Defender 90. I've chosen the SCX10 as my roller and will run down the list of my electronics below. I have a couple of questions for you guys. I'm trying to decide if I should go with 1.55 or 1.9 wheels on this build. I've researched other D90 builds and I have noticed a lot of 1.55 scalers for the D90s... is there any particular reason? I do love the more scale look with the smaller tires... Anywho, here is what's going in the rig. Looking forward to getting this going! Pics soon to come. Roller: SCX10 Body: Hardbody Defender 90 Wheels: ? Tires: ? ESC: Novak Goat 3s Motor: Novak Ballistic 21.5t Servo: Hitec 5645 Batteries: Zippy 3000mah 3s Castle BEC (Future proofing) Last edited by Millsous; 03-04-2013 at 08:43 PM. |

It seems a long of people go with RC4WD's Landies 1.55 wheels with this body because they look the most scale. 1.9 is a little big for the D90 body. I believe the Landies wheels were designed for this body.

Working on some custom links now. Using 1/4" brake line, stainless 4mm all thread and Revo rod ends. The brake line has a green coating that i will be sanding and priming... will probably put a few coats of black on tube.

Little bit more work done this weekend. Got the truck bed built and worked on the wood bed. The wood still needs to be sealed and I think I'm going to leave it a natural color... the sealer will probably make it a bit more orange. I made the the bed by glueing the wood strips to a sheet of cardstock. I will then use heavy duty carpet tape to tape it down to the bed. Close up on the wood bed |

I need to start thinking about a bumper solution... I haven't found one I love so I think I may need to build one. I'm thinking something like this... I like it's simplicity. |
