1984 Toyota 4Runner I never thought I'd do this again... http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7282/8...61f68904_b.jpg Mutilated Tamiya Hilux body with some extra styrene glued to it. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7286/8...8f764ebf_b.jpg It started out as a Trail Finder 2. I swapped the 2 speed for an Axial transmission, flipped the front spring hangers and shackles, stuck the steering servo on the correct side, raised the transfer case and narrowed the yota axles. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7293/8...8ffcf17c_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7294/8...98f30132_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8126/8...3670a907_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7054/8...c33e01e5_b.jpg |

Actually, I don't have many pictures of the process since I was experimenting and didn't know if it would work. I removed 10mm from each side of the axles. I drilled the housing out to accept some aluminum tubing I had laying around. Then I cut a section out of the housing and used JB Weld to stick it back together. I figured out a way to make the axles come apart for service if they needed it. The axle shafts were just cut and brazed back together. I have no idea if this is going to hold up to actual use, but I'm going to take it easy on this truck anyway. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8532/8...dc969343_b.jpg Little update. This is how it's going to sit. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7285/8...51380733_b.jpg |
Re: 1984 Toyota 4Runner wow im lost for words youu work is always top notch |
Re: 1984 Toyota 4Runner It looks like the perches and shock mounts are moved around...very slick work. I might have to skinny up the axles under the bronco a tad. Top notch work as usual man keep it up!!! Matt |

There will be a removable hardtop like a proper 4Runner should have. Speaking of which... I made a lot of dust today. http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2833/8...d9be0e67_b.jpg http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2852/8...6c931586_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3777/8...0458d180_b.jpg http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7420/8...c3980eea_b.jpg |
