| Trail Stomper ~ With D-40 Axles Hi Everyone, I am New here, I have been on Hobby Talk for years as tjetdragracer but it seems to have grown out dated like My Space. lol Well here is my Rc4wd Stomper that I have been upgrading over the past year. I put Two New Rc4wd D-40 Front axles on it only because I could not find a new rear D-40 axle well at least I have the option to make it 4 wheel steering in the future. I also upgraded the Drive Shafts with Axial Big Bore ones. I did lock out the rear front axle with two homemade L Brackets for now. ~ The Tamiya Clodbuster Body, I painted it all flat green & then painted the hood and doors black and added Rc4wd decals, Then clear coated them. Just ordered a pair of T-Box's for the rear leaf springs & a pair of old style looking lock-out hubs. ( Thank You for the Photobucket tip ) Last edited by Stomper Fan 777; 01-01-2014 at 09:00 AM. |

| Thank You
][/ Hi OOracer, Thank You very much for posting my pic's on the message board. I tried a few times, but not giving up I will get it right next time I hope. There are some really nice Trail Stompers on here I am glad to see that. About the log bumpers, I just gathered up some branches from the front yard and cut them down to fit my truck, Just tried something different then the round brass bumpers I usually make. ( Hey it Worked this time ) This is a pic of my first Trail Stomper that I bought as just a roller from a Co. in CA. With no wheels/tires or radio gear. ~ And of course I used a Tamiya Clodbuster Body ~ On that one also "a big fan of clod bodys" I wish that I would have saved that body for my New RTR Stomper that I have now. | Re: My Stomper 2.0 Hi tutone500, I found two pics on-line on how they should work flexing. ~ Just the T-Boxs alone don't do much good without (Shooter Shackles) By Rc4wd ~ On the rear of the leaf springs also. A set of Rc4wd (Red soft flex Leaf Springs) Will help also. So the combination of the 3 and you will have a very good suspension travel ~ set-up... ~ My set-up is not working till I get them other parts listed above ~ (The Leaf Spring Set-Up) * T-Boxs ~ $40. (2) * Shooter Shackles ~ $35. (2) * Red soft flex leaf springs ~ $30. (4) * So this set-up will cost: $180. ~ Total / For both a Front & Rear Set-Up. * (Or Option 2) ~ Go with the Rc4wd 4-Link Set-up made for T-Rex 60 axles for fifty bucks each. In the third pic. Will need to buy (2) plus links also for both the Front & Rear. So your looking at around $150. for the 4 link set-up. * I like the Leaf Spring set-up better My self, ~ Just more scale looking than the 4-link. (If you remember this movie when it frist came out your about as old as I am) ~ LOL (Was born around the year of the cop car chasing the '32 coupe) ( Just to Note: ~ I am no expert on R/C Cars & Trucks ) I have been in the r/c hobby on & off since the Early 1980's I Had ~ Tamiya Black Foot trucks To a Custom Works 2wd dirt oval racer and many in between. / Fairly new to Scale Trail Trucks and learned a lot about them from on here and other web sites. I Just post of what I have learned & researched over the years. "SO PLEASE DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER" ~ LOL I Thank You, My two kid and 6 Grand children Will ~ Thank You also !!! I just built my 4 link setup and left the leafs in the back. I played around with the shooters and didn't like the fit on the stomper frame.

Very nice stomper. I was seconds away from buying a stomper, but ended up with the TF2. The military green is so cool. And the log bumpers just made it pop Where did you buy the leaf linkage? |

| To: Sagemoen Hi Sagemoen, Did you mean the T-Box's for the leaf springs ? I got them from RPP Hobby but there out right now, I did see that the Rc4wd Site has them back in stock now. Part Number Z-SO250 When I bought my Stomper I really had my heart set on the Orginal Trail Finder but when I had the money saved up they Discontinued them so I am makeing one from a Trail Stomper. ~ Have fun building your new TF2 & Put a Clodbuster Body on it. Yeah, the t-box. Thanks for the reply! Have some comming shiped to me now. You will get a great scaler after some upgrades of the stomper. And it is cheaper so you can buy upgrades and be good below the TF2 price! Mine is done now, took it for a test spin out in the snow. Works great, just waiting for some upgrades in the mail! |

| My Dream Scale Trail Truck Track { A 25ft. By 25ft. Scale Trail Truck Course that I would like to build } I found this pic online and altered it to my liking of how I want to build my course. / I could tell that this person that built it put a lot of time in to it. If he recognizes it I hope that he likes how I altered it a little bit. I just added a little greenery to it in a few areas. ~ Going to start working on one just like it this spring ~ With a few other scale trail truck hobbiest. Up-Date ~ 2-18-2014 I built a Bridge for my track just out of scrap plywood & 1" by 3"s Also used a lot of Elmer's Wood Glue. ~ 6ft. Long by 13" Wide Last edited by Stomper Fan 777; 03-18-2014 at 06:36 AM. |

| T-Rex 60 Axles Hi rcspike, I like your Trail Stomper, Here are some upgrades you should make to your T-Rex 60 Axles. (4) Things a New Trail Stomper Owner should Buy before running it very much. "I have seen this on meny post about The RC4WD Trail Stomper but it don't hurt to post it agine". {Part's For The Front Axle:} (1) XVD Axle ~ (Z-S0092) (2) Reinforced Axle C ~ (Z-S0576) (3) Aluminum Knuckles ~ (Z-S0569) Also a Set of H.D. Rear Axles ~ Wouldn't hurt either. & Good Quality Drive Shafts ~ Thats a must have. { The Axles & The Drive Shafts } ~ Are the Only weak points of this Trail Truck... { The Cost: Around $150. ~ But well worth it. ~ Meny hours of run time with out any broken part's with them upgrades. I did all the upgrades to my T-Rex 60 Axles before I sold them and bought the D-40 Axles { My Trail Stomper } ~ From New to Now ~ All the Changes in the past two years. I also removed the Bottom O-Ring in the Trail Stomper shocks and shortened the inter springs. All that helped a little ~ For Better Suspension travel. / Some New Pics as of: (4-3-2014) |

| Moved Battery To The Center Of Chassis Rc4wd Trail Stomper Battery Tray ~ Made Easy ~ Moved to Center Location on the Chassis Just make a metal plate & two brackets and using the existing holes in the frame to mount it. Or an even easier way is to use an SCX10 Battery Plate and place two brackets on the frame. Bolt it down add the velcro straps and you're done. Just requires making two L-Brackets & Drilling a few holes. |
