Default Szczerba's Samurai

Been wanting to build up a smaller 1.55 rig for a while now. I picked up a Samurai body in the classifieds and started piling up parts. We'll see how it goes.

First up. Wheels and tires. 1.55 RC4WD MTZ's fit the sami perfect.

JC Auto Designs Prototype 1.55 3D Printed beadlocks.

Talking with JC AutoDesigns (monkeyracer) I asked for more holes in the beadlocks and some hub options.
Still talking and working on more hub revisions with monkeyracer.

I hope. No real direction for this rig but this front bumper may help that. Just have to make that first cut on this body. Faux bumpers need a removin'.

This is awesome! Could we get a pic compared to a scx cause those 1.55 mtz look big under there and those suckahs are tiny. Proportions look badass tho.

Mine! If you have seen any of my other builds, I am by no means a "scale" builder. We'll see how this turns out.

Like this rig next to a scx axled rig?

Yep, that was a fun build and rig. Rivas Concepts now has it.

Here is a requested pic next to my 1.9 Ford project.

We'll see how it looks after I cut the molded bumpers off and put the proline's on, somehow.

Jens did a great job with these wheels, especially for them being 3D printed. It looks like he could have added a little more material to the inner lip; It looks like the ring is stressed due to the screws.

He sure did. These are prototypes and we have been working through them as I put them together on the rig. I asked for more holes on the rings and Jens sent me these. The thickness of the ring had to be increased to allow for the faux screws to engage the ring. The stress areas are on the faux screw holes. We are still working on hub offsets too.

Made a rear bumper support plate out of 1/16" carbon fiber. I need to order another sheet to redo the back plate to make it longer towards the trans and make a front plate too. Used servo mounts on the frame too.

Full bump of rear axle.

Used some Mattzilla 6 hole fab tabs to raise the shock mounts. Need to mount these permanently.

What's the weight difference between Jens wheels and a Gear Head Delrin wheel? I imagine them being a tad bit lighter.

Ah! Ok, I thought they were all normal screws. It's not as bad being that they are faux screws. I also like the simplicity of the hub offsets too; It seems like there can be a ton of offset options with that design.
