Default "Son of Sam" Samurai

A few month back I unfortunately had to sell my 1:1 Samurai, bad choice selling it. Anyway, I miss that rig so I want to build Scaler to wheel around and what better than to build a zuk?

Since everyone likes pictures and videos here's a few pics and video of my 1:1 I'm replicating.

Now the 1.55 Build.
Im going to be using MRC axles,
TCS Trail Chassis
RC4WD Steel Wheels and Mud Thrasher tires.

I will be building some custom goods, bumpers, cage, ex.... My styrene skills are no where near some of the experts but I will give it my best shot.

Started building the tub

Going to need some sliders

Started bending up the cage and rear bumper
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ds/image-3.jpg

Little mock up of the cage and tube
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...ds/image-5.jpg

Ended up trying out that rust look, we will how it turns out when it gets bashed in the rocks

I originally wanted to build a 1.9 scaler but the wheel size was not working with me..... 1.55 looks much better

Cage sits nicely in the window and dash

Thats how its sitting now. Still have a ton I want to do....

To do list...
Finish and mount sliders
Finish rear bumper and tire mount
Build winch bumper
Build seats
Build Dash
Set up lights
Build a grill (sticker looks cheap)
Build some sort of Top

Thats it for now...

Wow its been awhile since I updated this build. Time for some pictures....

Well I finally got a mechanic that gets work done, meet Broc. Measuring and building that front bumper.

Mandatory Flex shot after completing the front bumper..... That grill and lights though :(

Lights?

Fixed the lights and grill, Broc is very happy with the outcome so far.

Light testing...

Time to move to back and make a better bumper and tire carrier, time to bust out the tubing notcher and brazing rode.

Video testing out the bumper and break/reverse lights

Unfortunately there was a very serious accident in the shop. Broc was working on the zuk when it fell off the stands and pinned his legs. Luckily he survived but both legs need amputated.

Time to upgrade the steering, that stock micro servo wasn't going to cut it.

Details, load up and lets wheel...

Thanks for looking! I am happy with the progress but I still have a lot more planned for this build....
