Good point. I have one left on the sheet that Freq-E-Skinz made for me. It'll go on the back glass.

I cut up some Crawler Innovations Double Deuce 1.55 foams. Narrowed the inners and the left soft outers the same width.

These are some pretty short and narra tires and the foam combo makes them pretty firm overall but I'll do some testing here before too long.

Wiring cleaned up a little bit using servo crimper pilers to shorten up rc plug lengths.

Holmes Hobby BR-XL for now and an OG hiTec 5955tg steering servo. Truck should get a full shake down at a local GTG tomorrow.

Probably will run a 1500mah but a 2200 fits fine. Like I planned that or something.

worked ok with 1.55 tires. Swapped out to 1.9 FC-II tires with Crawler Innovations foams. Much better grip and a little more height. Mud was slick but momentum was key.

short video, skinnier 1.9's tuck better too.

Typical redneck; has a cool truck with all the toys, doesn't have the money to finish building his house.

Gotta get them shiny new wheels first.

Little video of a muddy climb. RC4WD FC-II tires and Crawler Innovations foams. I like these tires and foams becuase they are a skinnier and tuck better, as well as giving me a little bit more traction and height.

Thanks. The montero works pretty good for having a 2.5lb hardbody/interior on top of low profile chassis. It would really perform good if I just threw on a lexan C1 cheater body.

I am pleased with the FC-II tires as well. Just need to wire up the lights. I have an idea on those as well.

I went back through your build. I think I'm going to order the GCM motor mount for the Volvo. The Dinky GR7 is too close to my axle. Looks like the GCM may allow me to lower the ride height. The Volvo's fender gap is keeping me up at night. I've got to get it lower. Your Montero sits just right.

Just note how super close the spur gear gets to the underside of the hood. if you need measurements of how far it sticks up past the shock hoops, just holler. Note the custom servo mount I had to make too but that was due to my front chassis bumper setup.

Once I wrap up Tonka I'll get some measurments from you. My problem will be the direction of the can. It's 180 from where I have it (when using the GCM). That's going to be my problem area. My homemade servo mount should still be okay.
The Volvo has such small fenders, it forced that damn tiny tire. I didn't (still don't) want to cut the fenders out.

This truck looks real good! Nice and scale.

I have a quick question... I want to run the dick cepek fcII tires but the X2 compound is too soft and the tires sag under the weight of any vehicle. From the looks of your rig you managed to run the fcII tires with stiffer foam inserts which eliminated the tire sag.
I have been trying to contact crawler innovations to get a recommendation on foam but have not received a response in about a week, so what's your secret? What foams are you running and how did you modify them to work with the fcII's?
