Thanks. I didn't make the construction stuff, a local club member did. All those cinder-blocks are made from wood and painted.

I have a quick question... I want to run the dick cepek fcII tires but the X2 compound is too soft and the tires sag under the weight of any vehicle. From the looks of your rig you managed to run the fcII tires with stiffer foam inserts which eliminated the tire sag.
I have been trying to contact crawler innovations to get a recommendation on foam but have not received a response in about a week, so what's your secret? What foams are you running and how did you modify them to work with the fcII's?
See post 81. Just cut up some 1.55 CI foams. really just narrowed the inners and used the soft outers on all four corners.

I shipped this truck off to The Crawl Space for the Rocky Mountain Scale Nationals next week. Wouldn't fit in my carry on and wasnt going to check a hardbody truck with the airline baggage folks.

Thanks for the reply!
For my application I have cut and shut the 1.9 fcII's down to 1.55, so my tire diameter is now 3.44" tall and 1.19" wide.
Which of the crawler innovations foam inserts would you recommend ordering; single stage foam, dual stage, or dual stage for the pit bull tire?
I presume whichever foam insert I choose I will need to custom fit the width of the inner foam and the height and width of the outer foam to my unique tire size?

I would order some dual stage 1.55 inners only and cut those down with a razor to fit. Knowing that they will be the single firmer closed cell foam only. Being that small you will have a hard time getting a dual stage foam to fit/work. If you want a dual stage that small you'll have to get creative.

Love it! The only thing I would do is cut the lower rear rocker behind the flare and add some steal side extension/ protection to the rear bumper.

Thought about several times, too lazy. After working countless hours on rigs, sometimes I say "I'm done".

Thanks for the info!!

What is the outer diameter of the 1.55 inner closed cell foam?
From what I gather you think the closed cell foam (from CI's 1.55 dual stage pit bulls) should fill out the reduced fcII's by them selves?
From what I can tell by looking at pictures it looks as though the inner closed cell foams will to be too short for the height of my reduced tire, so I would still need a second stage to better fill it out...

Has a winch. See post #65.

The way the bumper mounts to the body and the bumper/body fits the chassis, as well as my steering servo placement, there is no way to have a bumper mounted winch or fairlead.

I will have to measure the inner 1.55 foam.

Montero worked well for it's capabilities in C1 at the Rocky Mountain Scale Nationals this past weekend. Really a C0 rig but it still surprises me how well it can crawl from time to time.

Video from Caleb Scott, Montero is at 4:43. 1080p it

Yup, Caleb did an awesome job of filming all day. He'll have more videos up before too long. The trucks were super nice and some of the best drivers in the country were steering them.

I went to YouTube and watched a few more of his videos before I hit the sack. Tell him to get busy. Quality scale videos are rare.

A few pics from the RC4WD Scale Challenge.
Ended up 11th out of 20 or so drivers with this rig. Really a Class 0 setup but it does show out from time to time. We dont run Class 1 locally, so this rig will be sitting on the shelf for a bit now.

Yah, for know. I setup the suspension pretty good when I built it. The steering geometry is correct but my throw is not maxed out but still works great. I have shaved the heck out of the housings. It’s running MIP axle shafts front in rear, so they arent going to break. Ultra rare and I have a back up set.

I could swap out to some Bowhouse 170mm axles in the future but we’ll see. Should have a new set of wheels and tires here the next few days.
