Default Trigger - Gelande II Land Rover Pickup

I bought the body from RC4WD (modified with DJ Designs Land Rover Accessories) and added several other after market parts; detail items inside and out, steel windshield guard, steel sliders, eyelets and brush cables, mudflaps, alloy rear bumper with Warn winch on a bumper mount, 8" Jack Shephard figure and a servo for the steering wheel.

Turn up your volume and enjoy a video with Fink for the soundtrack:

Nice job especially the rust effect. But I am afraid is is far from realistic for the defender. Since 1940 the land rover defender is made of a steel chassis with aluminum body panels. So you would never see rust on the body of a real defender.

I know, you're right. I was having so much trouble getting the paint right that my wife suggested I make it rusted and battered. It isn't accurate, but it was fun to do and my wife is happy she helped.

Believe it or not, I used rust paint and sprinkled on seasonings to get the rusty look; paprika, chili powder and cinnamon. LOL! Her idea!

Hey that's what this hobby is about. And making the wife happy is rewarding.
Cheers
Prem.

I got rid of the rusty paint scheme and just left the Landy pick up looking well used instead.

I took the truck out for a drive today and had several problems. The truck ran well, but I forgot to add oil to my smoke generator, the ESS-Pro sound didn't come through because I had the camera in the water-proof case (duh) and my 35t motor overheated to the point that it smoked and I thought my smoke generator had actually kicked in. Then, to top it all off, I got a splotch of mud on the camera lens while filming and didn't realize it until reviewing the footage. I went ahead and completed a video, but had to add a bunch of still shots at the end to fill in to the end of the song.

Oh well. I was still outside on a beautiful, warm Texas day and the driver didn't complain.
