Default Volvo V70 Station Wagon

I picked up this body about a year ago. Planned on building a 4 wheel independent chassis for it, but nationals is coming up quick and I cant run last years trucks so I stripped the 4runner and got a pretty good start.
Here it is sitting on the 4runner chassis! Looked great but I need to start over with my new chassis!

All the 4runner drivetrain bolted to the new chassis, motor mount, and servo/winch mounts.

Had to space the mounts out now that the servo mounts are made into the chassis. I'll be making new ones 1/4" wider.

Photobucket is acting up, so that's all you get for tonight! So far I got new links built all around, trans turned into a tcase, motor mount milled and filled, most of the electronics mounted. Ordered MIP shafts for it, heyok 4 amp winch controller (not gonna let a slow winch keep me off the podium this year), 2 new 4.19 claws to replace the blow outs. Still to come for the mechanics of this rig will be a new front axle, beef tubed with 2 short wraith universals and xr/wraith knuckles. Plan to have a 60+ pointed grocery getter in the end!

I've actually got it running and driving, just need to get some time to sit at the computer and update the thread! Just got a fresh build dropped in my lap tonight that has to be on display at king of the hammers in 2 weeks! Look for the DC custom fan booth if your going! There will be a very fast build thread in the 1.9 section soon! I'm excited for the build, but its going to cut into my person build time for nationals.

No real progress, just the pics that photobucket wouldn't let me post the other night!

Still working on lowering the body down.

I don't really care for the ackerman angle so It will get the xr mod soon.

Made my bent links! Started way to long so I ended up bending them way to much to get the length! I'm sure I'll re do them.

ToyZuki transfercase installed (waiting on MIP shafts from RPP hobby). FXR, holmes 30t, and spectrum receiver mounted up front, and a 1300 3s mounted where the motor weight used to be. Heyok 4amp controller on the way too!

Looking good Ben! That chassis would be perfect for a Unimog build........

I thought about building one of these, love the Volvo Cross Country!

how much shorter is the new t-case compared to the axial. is there not enough clearance to 180 the case and have the intermediate shaft go strait into it.

thats how i have my C2 set up and it takes allot of power away from it. i run 4cell and it runs like its on 3cell. i can only run 2 courses before i need a new lipo.

I actually designed the case to be mounted the other way and it works. I just mirrored it to make room for the battery. Centered weight as low as it can be! I installed one in the class 2 about a month ago and didn't notice any power loss. I even ran it in the u4 last month to stress test it. She still hauls ass and crawls. In a 35t 3s. Shouldn't lose any power unless the joints are binding.

I don't have a side by side pic of the case and an axial on photo bucket, but I'll text it to you.

Also I've been making the mounting brackets by hand. I think when I draw it in cad, I'm going to add a hole so the case can be mounted on its side, keeping it narrow and putting the input shaft on top under a center console. Giving the customer options.

Finally a little time to work on the class1! Nationals is approaching quickly and I have a long way to go, plus I haven't started my super secret class 2 build yet!

Got the body down where I wanted it. The front is almost completely compressed and the rear is fully drooped! Just the way I like it to set

Front bumper is almost finished! Mostly bras but some thin copper in there too!

My phone takes horrible pictures so I'll stop now. Ordered a new phone today though

Looking back through your build. Noticed I replied to a video request in your thread. Must have seen it on my phone and thought it was in my thread (I'm subscribed to yours). My bad. Like your build.

Wishing I had built mine based on taller tires. I don't like my fender gap. I've been thinking about raising it up to get more tire under it. Can't talk myself into to doing it.
