That would be great, at this point in the interest of saving some money I may have styled on this set of aluminum wagon wheels I have. They are narrower than axial wheels. I may paint them gunmetal. What hubs are you running on the ssd wheels?

I'm just running the hubs they come with, but a local friend runs a set that he put some wider SLW hubs (I forget the size though) on the back to match his xr modded front axle. I'll grab a bunch of measurements of them when I get home tonight. -Derek |

Ok, I have the wide Traxxas hexes on this axle, so outside of hex to hex is 195mm outside of tire to oustide of tire is 242mm and the outside of the rim is 9mm from the outside of the tire (checked, and they are the same for both sides). The angle makes it look like more, but it is only 9mm. All that means the the ouside of the wheel is 14.5mm outside of the hex with the stock hub. Which is only 6.5mm thick. and the hex only recesses into it by 5mm so that's only 1.5mm between the hex, and the steel halves of the wheel. Those Slim Shift hubs might gain you a few mm though, those look THIN. Hope that helps -Derek |

| Re: Skerb's Class 1 TJ II Thanks for those measurements Derek! It looks like even with shifts it would be hard to get back to stock axial width, and I need narrower than that. I have some tsls on axial beadlocks I'm going to check total width on tight and compare. |

I'm not sure if I will have the half cab ready for our comp next weekend so I threw in a stock cage for now. I bought a set of gear head 1.55 wheels but I think they have too much offset. We need more 1.55 tire choices. |

If your not against gluing, tamiya M-chassis wheels are 1.5". So the 1.55 tires aren't really tight against the rim, but it could give you some more options on offsets Btw, this thing is cool, has me kind of wanting to build a class 1 rig. Too bad the G55 bodies are impossible to find, be awesome to build a G63 6x6 Last edited by SuperDrty; 04-06-2015 at 11:01 AM. |

I had looked into those, but from most of the posts about it they said you had to reduce the tire some to fit the 1.5s. I do like the backspacing options though!

The 3741 hpi wheels are 26mm wide with 1mm offset, would that make them stick out more or less than the stock axial wheels. The stock axial wheels are 12.5mm backspace and these would either be 12 or 14mm. |

Being that this won't be run in the st class I'm currently giving up on sticking the tires all the way under the fenders. With stock axial walker Evans wheels it easily fits our class 1 rules so I'll run them for now. Now I need to find the best silver paint to use for the wheels that will hold up to some abuse. |

Got the tires swapped over to some new walker Evans wheels and made up some rocker guards that will double as the battery holder. I plan to run some delrin sheet along the bottom for a nice smooth rocker. Even with the walkers the tires tuck pretty well with the narrowed axles |

Installed a set of overdrive gears in the front and finished the delrin skids for the rock rails. These hold the battery in place. |

Did some final welding on the rear shock mounts and the trans mount and tore the whole thing down for paint. |

Got some reassembly done last night. Still need to either glue my tires to the walkers or run them on some axial beadlocks I have. And have to wire the whole truck. Pile o parts Chassis Slider Roller |

Got the electronics in it today and ladies and gentlemen we have a runner Fxr, HH pro 35t, cbec, 7955, 3s 1300 batteries. Now I just have to get some scale goods on it before the comp Sunday. Don't know if I'm going to keep these all terrains. Looking for a tire under 4" that's competitive. |

Let me just say I love building them, but I hate wiring them. Mostly because there is NO room in these TJs, especially with the body dropped like I did on this one. The transfer case is just far enough away from the floor that two battery wires can sneak between to cross from the drivers side where the esc is to the passenger battery location. But I did clean up the wiring and wire in the winch with the heyOk controller. And I added some scale equipment and she is sitting at a respectable 54 scale points currently. With one driver. I can eventually squeeze a few more out by adding welded front shock hoops or a passenger. |
