So our comp today was cancelled due to rain, but a few friends and I went out for a bit when the sun was shining and did some crawling. This thing flat out works!! But the tires were holding me back for sure.

But one of the guys with us had an old set of pb growlers he wasn't using and I took them home to check size. After some test fitting I would say these will work. They are big, but they still tuck ok.

Now I'm interested in seeing what other large c1 tires there are after seeing these fit ok.

Looks like the growlers are my stickiest tire option for class 1. Guess I'll be finding some.

I need to find a creative way for the front bumper to clear the front tires while still keeping it the same width as the windshield. I bent the aluminum bumper on the passenger side in our trail ride yeaterday

A little creative trimming for the growlers and I am still c1 legal and just as low as before. Now with more grip!

Placed an order yesterday for a set of voids and growlers so I can return these borrowed tires. Should be here Monday.

Got the voids but they made me barely class 1 legal because exactly half the tire at most was covered up front. Too close for comfort.

Thanks buddy, new GCM mini mag 5 slots on the way for this jeep. Should tuck the new growlers in nicely. They will probably beet me to the house. I'm rolling out in the morning for a weekend at black mountain ORV park for the OffroadSC.com annual ride.

I just put a fresh set of 1.9 growlers on my little girls scx wraith and I cannot say enough about them. The forward traction and side hill ability is truly amazing. She walks over stuff that my other daughters 1.9 ttc x2 claws equiped deadbolt won't touch. I'm getting some 1.5's for my trail yota.

Tha add wasn't labeled and I overlooked the pic and the gcm wheels I bought in the classifieds were actually 1.9. So now I'll have to unload them to be able to buy a set of the mini mags.

Finally got some mini mags from GCM! These bad boys keep the tires tucked as close as possible.

I think that I am going to order a set of these tires and foams. Will have to see if I want to mix it up before I go out to the competition.

Been driving this thing when I have time, this may be the most capable Rc TJ I have built. It gives m class 2 a run for the money. Looking forward to running in a comp at the end of the month.

Impressive build! Love how you kept the ride height so low. Just curious, but what's your limiting factor on upward travel? On my setup, the 3 link gets into the motor so I'm rather limited and it forces my LJ to sit a bit higher than I'd prefer.

And thanks for posting those pics of the GCM wheels. I may need to get a set of those myself! I also tried the Voids with similar results to yours. So far, the best "tucking" wheel option I've come across are some old HPI NASCAR wheels, but they're clearly sorely lacking in the appearance department! At least they tuck nicely with untrimmed fenders (Yota II axles, BTW).

I've also run the Growlers on mine and the grip was great!
