Default boxheads gq ute

okay so im very very slowly putting together a 1.5 rig for our local comps(canz)

scx10 which i bought already very moded with all the non scale goddies you could imagine and i have been slowly changing bits out to bring it to spec for our c1 rules

i havent bought the shell yet but il get there soon enough

as it stands right now:

3 racing c hubs

vanquish high clearance knuckles

mr links stainless link kit (4mm threaded straight rods *to comply with our c1 rules* with traxxas rod ends)

home made panhard mounts and a custom length link from mr links

home made chassis mounted double servo mount(to hold both steering and whinch servo's)

topcad lockers(the ones that have the gears in as one piece)

cheap china scx10 cvd's(will probably strip or break on the first trail run and will be replaced with something of better quality later)

traxxas 100mm shocks with mini t springs(will probably change springs out to suite the extra weight there will be once shell is aquired and barwork made)

heavy duty gearset in tranny(not sure which ones exactly as this was already fitted when i bought the rig)

one of tylers servo winch kits with heyok 3 position controller (operated from a futaba 4pls)

things im yet to grab for this chassis:
35t can(i would like to go hh but i may use something alot cheaper as i plan lots of water driving on this one but that may change)

cc bec

castle sidewinder micro

another futaba receiver

i also plan on wrapping the esc receiver and bec up in one neat little package and mounting them in a scale fuel cell to protect them from the water crossings and mud and the hose from after iv been out crawling and the rig is caked in mud

im also planning on having a storage box reccessed into the tube tray i have planned to house battery pack to minimise the need for removing shell just to switch battery packs

for now il probably run a cheap towerpro servo on 7.2v probably be way on the weaker side but i cant justify spending heaps on a servo atm when it gunna be getting dunked under water a bit (possably take a few steps top keeping it alive in the water for a touch longer tho)

anyways heres a few pictures

obligationary flex shot

and another

also note the cut down dingo bumper isnt staying i will be scratch building some stuff from a few differant sizes of brakeline and some 1mm plate at some stage

well thats it for now will post things as they happen or not long afterwards

Turns out there 5 lug and 1.9 not 1.5's like I thought they were

Aftwr having a bit of a thonk about it I might do this as a class 2 rig instead of class 1

If someone could move this to 1.9 section for me.that would be really awesome

ordered a gcm mount and panhard kits

standby for pics

also if a mod so happens to read this could this thread be moved to the 1.9 section as plans have changed and the 1.9's fit into c1 rules

Hi Boxhead.

You can have 1.9 wheels in Class 1. The tyres fitted look like they are the 4.19" MTZs which are class 1 legal in Australia.

No reason why it can't still be a Class 1 spec truck.

Cheers
