| Klampyz SCX10 Dingo ate the baby
Facebook has destroyed my IMG links. i got sick of it so i stopped posting pics. but i cleaned out my photobucket for more room so here goes! ready for a page of pics?? starting from older thru to late. Integy "scale bumper"> 3watt LED bulbs. nice n bright. beginnings of AR60 front axle> divorced motor setup metal bits for chassis. FYI Integy Universal shafts suck. i now have Junfac shafts. much better. my MOST favourite shot of this truck to date. and a few other good shots, yes it has open front differential. uses HPI gears, and Integy alloy diff housing. no failures yet, runs on 100k oil NEW casey currie light bar new TIRES! the treps are good, but just never really fit quite right coz wide and chopped.. also, note JK flat flares too :excited: Latest rebuild. whew. got there eventually. lol. this rig has seen some work. starting with freshly machined axle housing. the old mess. Tamiya CC01 rear shaft was previously my motor to transfer shaft. apparently the three screws holding the final gear had all loosened.... new panhard setup. New nuts. thats a scale 32inches. perfect. and same on rear despite leafs. new solidly attached panhard mount. all freshly painted ready for this weekends camp trip. |

I like how you offset the front diff. Also you even replicated the tierod/draglink that the XJs have. Looks good, hope you don't get too much death wobble!!! |

Too bad about your servo man. That's never fun... The rig's looking pretty awesome though! I love the suspension setup. |

Thankyou, its quite the fun rig to drive, very realistic in how it drives. Despite its "scale handicap" it can mostly keep up with more typical scx based rigs because of low cog. Quite often we will approach obstacles and I'll be like no way, but most of the time it ends up yes way haha

finally got my new servo in the post. just a cheap towerpro, MG946R. has much more torque than the 996 it replaced. crawled well until about halfway through the run when i noticed clicking coming from the front axle. at first i thought it was the tire grabbing edges of the rocks, but it got worse as i pushed. so sick of maintaing the diff gears, so when i pull it out, im just gonna lock it. will improve its crawling ability tenfold! |

So i rebuilt the front diff. Found that the ring gear had loosened from the diff cup so none of the gears were meshing. So I removed it. Replaced it with a spool. Wow. Gone from what I thought was an enjoyably difficult truck to a massively capable rig that climbs everything I can get my wheels on. 0_o Spool fitted Mad climbs |

So the "new " servo crapped out. Not it's fault tho. I did drive it fully submerged numerous times on its second last outing. This time there must have been moisture inside. it just gave up. Replacing with a turnigy (I think?) 20kg servo of which I'll fly waterproof BEFORE fitting. Also committed to finally laying down my battery packs and fitting a wraith interior inside. Amongst other things. I'll snap some pics n put them up in the near future. |

bit of an update is needed. ive purchased some of the vanquish knock-offs from ebay and there must be something different about the 1.7 rim vs a 1.9 but since fitting the new rims up the growlers just work! im pretty happy with them now vs before where i was still questioning them. Also, changed the layout of the interior and dropped my batteries down flat on the sliders, and fitted a wraith interior and some new inner panels for the arches. also needed another new servo, so this time i picked up a 20kg servo which so far has impressed me. if anyone is interested in these items i can link up ebay, but otherwise thats where i find most of my gear. for now, enjoy another slomo vid on the rocks near my home in Coffs Harbour NSW. |
