NO SIR! Just got absolutely crushed with work. As a matter of fact, It sits on my computer desk as a daily reminder of what I'd really rather be doing... I need to finish replacing the rocker panels on the Subaru and front wheel bearing on the Explorer then I can play with the fun toys again. This whole grown-up thing sucks. |

It's been waaaaaay tooooooo long since i've gotten to play with this build. Finally got some time off from work and decided to get back at it! I trimmed out the tail light holes and fit the corners to the bed posts and rear quarters. I made a forming die in the shape of the tail light lens to be sure they were the same size. I'll make light buckets for the rear lights to fit in and for a mounting point for the lenses. Next is to get the front door posts and rockers attached. I'll try and not take another year |

OK, I got sidetracked.... Again! I got tired of trying to silver solder all these parts. The ford factory spot welded everything so why not try it on the Scale EB project. I started with a spare starter solenoid from the old lawn tractor, foot switch from an old sewing machine, bus bars from an old electric panel, and a bunch of old battery wiring from the crown vic donor for the full size EB engine swap. Pretty ghetto but that's how I roll ;) First test weld went pretty good. The leads are just temporary brass rod. I will need to find copper rod for more durable contact points. I also need to offset the point to one side so I can get closer to the inside bend on smaller parts. This should really help on smaller parts that are a pain to get to stay together while soldering. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming... |

I'd like to see clear pictures and learn more about the spot welder made. Looking at the last postings, have a sinking sense the builder will not be back.

Soooooo sorry it's been so long. I am still around lurking in the shadows. Been a crazy last year with a full house renovation and lots of family stuff.... I need to figure out the photobucket issue. I really don't want to be paying a monthly fee but i also don't want to have to re-upload and re-link all my photos again. GRRRR!

Spot welder is based off this design but a car battery was used as a power source instead of household ac. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrlvqib94xQ | |
