Got a few more body tub parts made and started silver soldering the floor together. I may need to attach it to the frame before i get any farther along because as I heat the panels up to join them, they start to warp a bit. Had to massage things quite a bit to get it to relax. I also redid the drivers floor as 2 pieces like the 1:1 and didn't set the ribs quite as deep. That seems to help not warp the panels quite so much. Guess I need to make body mounts now. I also kicked around the idea of putting a Hanson Enterprises front bumper on like my 1:1 but after mocking it up I think reproducing the stock one looks way more classic. Any thoughts? |

Very cool build. I love the EB's and have a couple of Bronco projects in the works myself. Your floor detail is right on the money, although I'm not going for that much detail. I like the looks of classic Hanson bumpers, simple and functional. I even did a front and rear, in brass, for my Tomb Raider Jeep. So here is a couple shots of the inspiration behind the build. Quite a few years ago, a buddy in Mass had a couple yard rotters he wanted gone. Of course being a self admitted broncoholic I saved them from the murky depths of the back 40. One was so bad I had to pound a 2x4 down the frame rail so it wouldn't sag so bad I couldn't shift the transmission Out of the two I was able to make one (with a bunch of NOS parts he also had). Most of the rot has been fixed and all I need is to fix the front fender wells and I'll be ready for body work and paint. This thing is like the old Johnny Cash song about the Caddy. A little bit of everything from 68-77. Nice to see the parts piles come back together into a complete rig. Plus who doesn't love an uncut halfcab. |

Nice! One day I'll get a new front bumper for mine. Close on the tire size 37's. I think if you're going for a semi stock uncut half cab then a stock bumper would probably look better. Either way I'm sure it will look awesome.

| Re: Scale EB Build It's styrene, 1/16 scale size, I think...can't remember exactly. Gorilla super glue to hold in place. I went with styrene because it was easier to work with, while cutting the "Jeep" logo in the tailgate.
