Re: My yellow JK Pictures from November 2021 were apparently taken outside. The chipped paint on the wall took me back in time - I used to live in Sao Martinho do Porto many years ago. Beautiful country. Oh - and the crawler looks good too! |

This thread is so old that is affected from when PhotoBucket went offline. I'll have to paint that wall as soon as the weather allows it :) Update on the bumper: Upper section is done. First time using brake line instead of solid rod. Harder to work with but way lighter. Added 2 tow points in 2mm steel wire. They always come in handy. If weather allows, I will paint it https://i.imgur.com/fXPkZyVh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/44BvK13h.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6iAmdwkh.jpg |
Re: My yellow JK Spray painted black to scratch easily. Improved skidplate with mirrored transfer case and small changes to be easier to work with. Also printed a modified servo/bumper mount: Now has holes to hold the body at the front. Put bodyposts facing down mounted on pre-existing body screw holes https://i.imgur.com/hI0Lqmsh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/gq1arTth.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7SYyqjvh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/4KM4ncQh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/dTmXmiah.jpg |
Re: My yellow JK Yep - there's that paint again. Don't know why but when I was there the whole country's walls looked like that! |

Of course, it's the same wall :) Truth be told, the actual house has pristine painted wall, inside and outside. I bought the house unfinished and these wall was just painted once, during construction |
Re: My yellow JK This is one cool jeep! Looks like a fun rig to drive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks! I'm really curious on how to behave on the trail. This is the rig I should never break apart because it's the only one that keep up with my buddies' trucks. |
Re: My yellow JK Finally finished the gearbox. Before, was machined in aluminium. I did this one printed because it went to the opposite side. It shares the same internals so the gear ratio is still 1:12 Also did a metal motor mount to hold everything firmly. At the moment, I'm printing the battery tray but already test this Fusion SE 1800kv. I'm not used to this quality stuff! so smooth and so silent. The truck can go really slow with no hiccups https://i.imgur.com/CEYkHAVh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/gSh3Wu4h.jpg https://i.imgur.com/NvsEB6Qh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/yc3IY8ah.jpg https://i.imgur.com/eJuF982h.jpg https://i.imgur.com/CzdBBevh.jpg |
Re: My yellow JK Had some troubles printing this. It's not perfect but is good, for now. Need some modifications in order to be easier to put the bumper's screws Notice the high-tech method of holding the battery. There's several colors available to suit my mood!! https://i.imgur.com/B2v47avh.jpghttps://i.imgur.com/OnpL6Sqh.jpg |
Re: My yellow JK This has been a bit slow so people started calling and ask:"hey Cooper, how does the JK is going?" Usually I reply with: -"Who are you? How did you got my number?" :) Like on the LC70 build, struggled to get the inner fenders fitting properly...the shape of the JK is not that straighforward. After sorting the body mount solution, could do the fenders and give the final touches . https://i.imgur.com/Ij1mLATh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/jns9WCWh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/q9xUvgIh.jpg |
Re: My yellow JK https://i.imgur.com/mPEEDC1h.jpeg Had some bad luck on the first time on the trail. I've had tacked the panhard mount to check position and clearance and totally forgot to weld it properly. It took less than 5 minutes to break it and lose steering. Now,it is finally welded https://i.imgur.com/qjKoLhLh.jpg |
Re: My yellow JK I was "stuck" on this for a while now: In how to hold the front of the JK's body. I think this is the one. Put 2 6mm vertical POM pins on the servo/bumper mount. Then, printed a TPU piece that is bolted to the bodyshell, with 2 holes where the pins fit snuggly. Is TPU to have some flexility while mounting and to be tighter on the pins https://i.imgur.com/hZ3S29wh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/W6kNYuXh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/xSu5Knqh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/QPeQ9plh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/bMo48lTh.jpg I can start to think in painting it, Half-doors are done and also added thickness to that area behind the grille that was too plain <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/QBn0k3aS5qE?si=lCJ-HUhBb5mKWgs6" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

Re: My yellow JK I drive this before on the beach a couple times but I don't really count driving there. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to take the JK to the trails my my buddy The-Gamer,locals and even guys from Spain!! Didn't take many pics or videos. I just wanted to drive! We even doing a 4km trail and seemed that everyone enjoyed. Truck did well, didn't break nothing and just spent a 1500mah 3s and maybe half on a 2200mah 2s I'm liking the Fusion SE more and more https://i.imgur.com/qWXyxRuh.jpeg |
