Default Half-Cab Bronco

Got a TF2 SWB a little while ago when RC4WD was having a sale. I was going to put a Wrangler body on it, but then I decided to do a project I've been rolling around my head for some time now.

I started with the Tamiya Bronco body, cut the top off and started a styrene half cab. Then, I modified the TF2 with a set of the original machined K44's with the 3:1 gearing. I had them waiting in the wings to do this build with them. I converted the front to a 3-link/panhard set up, just like the 1:1, and kept the leafs in the back but had to do some shock work. Still needs some tweeking, but it works for now.

I'm planning a full interior including the bed area. This will also be getting a second Bronco body with a full cab and some off-road bumpers and other things.

The rims and tires were also modified to fit the bill.

All I have is a single pic for now...enjoy.

I’m going to have to subscribe. I owned a Bronco 1/2 cab 30 + years ago , had to sell it because I had 2 Bronco’s . The other one is in my garage .

Welcome aboard, although I've had to put everything on hold for the moment. Life dealt us a pretty heavy blow last fall with my wife being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Other than work every day, I spend most of my time tending to her needs.

Hoping to get back to it soon.

She's on the mend, but we have a long road ahead before she can walk again.

Since I had a little alone time yesterday, I finished the cab assembly and in my excitement to be back at it, I forgot to take pics. I'm gonna try to work on the bed today.

Wife has been doing very well with her recovery, so I managed to spend some time at the bench working on the rear bed. Tailgate inner panel is next...maybe tomorrow.

Yes, life is harsh sometimes, thank God your wife is on the mend! You may already know, but look into more organic/natural diet, cut back sugar and processed foods (definitely no sugar free junk as it's even worse) prayers sent y'alls way!
Bronco looks fantastic, I love early Broncos especially with the half cab, buddy has a couple of them and they are super capable even with minimal mods and some not to tall tires. TF2 is a great scale chassis, love my leafer.

Thanks for the prayers and advice...much appreciated. I am a die-hard Jeep fan but the early Bronco does have a nostalgic position in my past. Love the 70's!

Thanks.
It's difficult sometimes to get the correct look based on incorrectly manufactured bodies, although, the Tamiya Bronco is probably the best looking.

Intense focus on silly tasks can be very therapeutic. I'm wishing the best for your family.

Are you doing a combo of vacuum forming and hand building? It looks fantastic.

Thank you Jammin Jay.
No vacuum forming just scratch building with styrene.

I did just get my MFAB TJ body today. Haven't looked at it much yet, just opened the box...looks good so far.

Life really sucks sometimes, our life has...yet again, been turned upside down, when my wife had a stroke in September. Her needs have been tripled with her new disabilities, so I don't really have a lot of gumption left to build. It's hard to start on something only to be called upon for a bathroom run, or when other needs arise. I do check in from time to time to see what's new here, but for now, I'll have to put my projects away.
