Default Nothing to see here...

This is by far my favorite build I've started to date. I need to throw a shout out to my buddy GIjoe for my inspiration on this build. We bounce ideas off of each other all the time and my mind never quits he sent me a photo of a model he built years ago

It's totally sparked my inspiration.

And after several Google searches I came up with several ideas

This is the final inspection.

So I scoured ebay for a body and came up with this.

The dimensions are kind of small but I can make do.

Ahhh... a fresh new body. Let's hack it up!

Now let's add some metal

It's taken several attempts to get some of these bends just right.

This cage work should make building the interior much easier, and it's a 2 row metal cage. So it adds some points also.

This motor is larger than I remembered. LOL some adjustments are in order.

Some bouncer styling later and presto!

Now I am gonna pick up a O.G. bruiser frame and see how much "customization" it'll need. This is awesome.

That's awesome, looking forward to the finished racer, x2 on the tube work. Is that a McAllister body?

It's header / zoomie night in the shop. Let's see exactly how much patience I have. Lol atleast rc4wd drilled and tapped the block for headers... I wonder why they never released any... oh well.

Did you consider moving the motor back?

IMO the motor is too far forward and up to be "scale". I dig the cage work, but the devil is in the details.

The issue is the body is technically 12th scale and this motor I'd say is more 9th scale than 10th... and I don't want the block or oil pan to interfere with the axle placement. Once I get the frame Monday I'll have a better idea how everything will sit. Its just in the beginning on mock up stages and alot of things are subject to change.

Team Blue Groove has a similar body with a 280mm wheelbase and 220 track width for the HPI Super RS4. I think it's a ferd.

This shall be a rather over complex steering setup....

Just a little sneek peek the front rims are 1.55 the rears are 1.9 but I felt this build belongs in the 1.55 section

I managed to quick cut heat and bend the frame up and out of the way of the rear tires, tomorrow I'll clean it all up

But I did achieve the tucked look into was trying for.

So it's tomorrow and like promised I cleaned up my rush work from yesterday and managed to fill some holes in the frame along the way.

Next on the punch list is to get the axles build and get the rc4wd R4 transmission and GCM LRT2 transfer case.
