My LC70 build
 

The plan is to keep it fairly scale as far as function goes, fairly low ride height, leaf sprung, etc..

I have the body painted and assembled... and that's it right now.

I did however order an scx10 chassis, yota axles, mud thrashers, black stamped steelies, some leaf springs and ultimate scale shocks. Hopefully all that comes in quick so I can start making everything work with each other. Once all that is sorted out then it's time to decide on driveline which I reckon should be fairly simple to sort out.

Anywho, here's the body!

As I'm sure you can tell from the pics I need to redo the plastidip on one of the bed rails as I didn't quite get enough on it lol

Well chassis parts came in! Won't have wheels and tires until Monday but I can sub in my 1.9's off my D90 due to almost the same height tire.

Here it is kinda mocked up with the front axle kinda mounted ish. Gotta figure out how to actually mount the leafs to the frame. Due to the mounting width of the yota axles it makes the leaf springs eye to eye mounting about a half inch wider than the scx10 chassis.

But the axle width is perfect! Hardly any tire sticks out beyond the body!

You can see me Defender that could and bug bodied bomber.

But, he has the fab stuff that I lack in my garage and he got the leafs mounted and wheelbase set with a set of extra wheels and tires I had since my set from RC4WD didn't arrive until today. Here's a couple pics.

Ride height needs to be raised some so he's gonna make some lift blocks.

Also found a TF2 Kit at a local hobby town and decided I needed a xmas present for myself.

That's with my Mojave body I already had on it. May do a Clampy replica and tow it behind the LC70. Would be kinda cool.

Got the Cruiser back.

Basically all I did was mount the wheels and tires as well as mount the body to the chassis. As I'm sure you can tell from the photos the front end is lower than the rear. That is because I just used a flat piece of aluminum across the shock towers with hd Velcro on the bottom of the hood and the aluminum strip. Need to actually raise up the mount on the chassis some. May end up using some body post as pedestals for the alu strip. Guess it's about time to order electronics and driveline components!

Also still need to mount shock but the ones I have are far too long.

That size tyre looks just right for a big tyre tough daily driven rig.

Thanks! I'm actually considering going a little smaller to the Baja ones, 10mil smaller diameter. I'm not sure, it does look good as is.

I have a pic in my thread of the small MTZ 84mm tyre against the body.

I think they are just a bit too small.

But for a very stock look, check out the 1.9 90mm MST CMX tyres. You can get them in a soft compound off ebay too. There is a pic of those as well.

I see after looking back at your thread. I think I will stick with my current ones. Reckon it should look just fine once I get the front end back up some. May actually lift the entire body up a little more than where it sits.
