King Kong RC ca10 Got my new kit today from King Kong RC looks like it's going to be a fun project very well made look at those leaf springs LOL I have the chassis built here is it next to my trail Finder 2 https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...23639f300c.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f278ee2af5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4788166fc5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b0830c9509.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0c846e7207.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...54a9410bdc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...035e528a45.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3e35cb356f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f36e365d5f.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...edd7ed6a75.jpg Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 Cool rig. Any future plans? |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 Two of my friends are building these. I haven't seen them in person yet, but it looks like a bad ass kit. It's just a shame it's RWD instead of 4wd. |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 Thanks for the comparison pictures. I like this for it's scaleness, even though it's 2WD and a tad smallish, I have an idea or two for a build, if I get unlazy and order one. Like the quality of parts? |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 Really incredible detail on this model. Those spring packs !! Seeing how it already has leafs up front, a 4wd conversion wouldn't seem like the hardest mod to pull off. A TF2 axle w/ the closed knuckle would have the correct "look" for the axles that would have been used for a 1:1 conversion. "thumbsup" |

Re: King Kong RC ca10 Good point. PMN did a good job of narrowing up some of those axles, so I guess it's possible if someone really wanted to do it, just not a simple bolt in proposition. |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 That's a great-looking kit. I'd be thinking hard about getting one if I wasn't so sure it would end up a shelf queen due to the terrain limitations. Interested to see what people do with them. |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 Is the dually axle narrow enough to mod into a front axle? |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 The quality is great and the fitment of the parts is excellent the Yoda axle is too wide https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...77be2f0776.jpg Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 Saw one of these run last weekend. Looks even better in person. Very cool scale kit. |

Re: King Kong RC ca10 Oh my! I'm lookin' to buy one of these when my tax return shows up in the coming days. I made a whole thread about it up in the general scale talk section if you wanna give a more detailed answer, but....mmm, the two things I wanna ask here: * Standard tamiya semi truck tire size? * Is it as stiffly sprung as all the videos imply it is? I've never seen it flex very much at all and your flex shot isn't exactly using the thickest platform there. |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 Yes the Springs are pretty stiff they should wear in in time the wheels are the same size 1.7 s the front rides on bearings just like the Tamiya truck dohttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f25d9e9d1c.jpg Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk |
Re: King Kong RC ca10 Pretty sweeet. Can't wait to get my own. You think it'd be overly difficult to put a fifth wheel on the back of it? And you reckon the springs don't need changing for someone who's never gonna carry all that much in theirs and would rather have the flex? |
