| Webbls 3D Printed Samurai WIP 1:10
Hey guys. This will be a long build. So I decided to try and print a little body. Most of the bodies are to big for my printer. I came across this Suzuki Samurai on thingiverse by designer scale parts. Downloaded the files and found out they fit on my bed. Had to turn the side panels diagnal, but it worked. Parts are still printing as I type. This will be a mash or different junk parts. Whatever I have laying around I'll try and use, if it sucks to bad I'll upgrade it. Frame will be hacked up to fit. It's starting as a Hot Racing scx10 frame. Shorting it to accommodate a 203mm wheelbase. Axial trans, for now, may try and get a tcase and front motor mount setup figured out. Motor TBD, probably a Goolrc esc/motor combo for cheap Yota axles, rear is shimmed way to tight. May need new ones. I also have scx10 cases, but they are way to far for this little guy. Axles are pretty wide, hoping a long set of flares will help. Wheels are 1.55 RC4WD stamped wheels Tires are 1.55 Fun Country's. Smallest I have. Think they look good. Lots of 3d printed supports and what not. Challenge im faced with at the moment is thinking about how short these drive shafts are going to be. Going to be linked for simplicity of the suspension. Don't want to try and cut down leafs or anything. Need some 70mm shocks as well. Maybe smaller. Dunno yet. Who knows what else. Here's where I'm at now. Once the body panels are all printed I'll start on body work. Then get it glued together so I know how it's going to fit. Can only get rough measurements without it moving. So i dont want to start hacking anything up yet. Sorry for the messy pics, was in a hurry to get the peices together while I could. Take it to the bench when I get all my parts. |

Started gluing some of the main parts together. I'll give it a day or 2 so it can set. Gorilla Glue gel takes a bit. Says 24hrs. Thinking about making a set of tube doors for it. The doors that come with it leave a less than desired gap. Could use some rollcages inside as well. Not to confident in the glue. Would be good to have a second layer of strength of I roll over. I used little pieces of filament in the holes to join the parts together. Should give the pieces a little extra strength. Lots of primer and Bondo next. The more I look at Google the more this calls for me. This is a long wheelbase zuki. Dunno details, just looked at the pics. Pretty cool and most realistic in terms of how wide my axles will be and how big my tires are. So thinking of taking the top off and building a cage to protect the while thing. |

| Re: Webbls 3D Printed Samurai WIP 1:10 Thanks Rick. Appreciate it. Blazer has taken sometime for sure, it's all in the details. Not calling finished by any means. Still need to fix the inside and fix the front bumper situation. And run it of course. Need some warm weather. What snow we had melted today though. Wahoo! On to the Zuki. It now has a hood. 3d parts are finished, minus some flares and seats. Now time for some body work. Need to make a basic bed as well. Think i have enough styrene for that. Other challenges im facing. Where to squeeze in the motor and trans. Think im going to need this planetary deal people speak of and possibly a DIY trans for more reduction. Or turn the axial trans sideways somehow and use it as a t-case. We'll see. |

Got a little work done tonight. Not glued in just yet. Need to make some supports along the bottom like a real bed would have. Think i have some square rod around here.... Ordered some new mechanical goodies also. Going to keep secrets. My evil plans will soon be revealed lol. Pretty sure i can have a full interior...kinda want to get that in before body work. So need some parts. Sarge needed a break. Pink Brew is his favorite. Not exactly sure what's in it though. He likes it I guess. |

Got one seat. Sarge is really pushing me. He's ready to take it for a spin. Still has that Pink Brew. Must be good stuff. |

Just found these were delivered. Never complained about a tight fit before, so I'm not gonna start now. Giggity. |

So I stole the special part I got and put it on my Blazer lol. It was a RC4WD Planetary unit. It is geared super low so I think I'll get a different one for this Zuki. Slow boat did finally send these little 70mm shocks though. My T-Case must be on a different slower boat.... Sent from my LG-LS998 using Tapatalk |
