Got the bed mounted on the frame (somewhat mounted lol) and took my K20 out for a little drive. I never knew how peaceful and fun crawling was. Finally got my rear driveshaft installed. Had to shorten it, was an inch too long. Now I got 4wd. Performed great. Going to tinker with the suspension to try to get a little more flex up from but I'm happy with it. With the 35t motor it has a good balance of crawl and high speed. Just have to get use to my pistol grip controller. Never used one before. Oh and isn't my rigs new neck chain stylish? Lol

Is that better? I think I had the settings wrong.

Well I took the truck out today and this happen

Thought it was broke but the screws came out. Forgot to put thread locker on them when I put it together. Simple fix.

Back up and running good as new.

this hits me right in the old school leafy good parts!

i really hope my next build comes together as well as yours has here. this is exactly the kind of scale realism that got me into trail/scale trucks!

looking forward to see how you get that radiator in with a servo and awesome scale motor all stuff in the same spot!
plans for interior?

First thanks for the compliment. I think I have enough space for a radiator. Of not I purchased a low profile servo that's shorter than the one I'm using now. But I like this servo so I might just build the radiator around it. We'll see. I'm planning on an interior. I just have to figure out how out build it with all the electronic under the floor. Right now in just enjoying that I have my first scale rc actually running. I love taking it for drives. When you start your next build let me know so I can follow along. If you plan and take your time it will turn out better than mine.

After taking my K20 for a drive the other day, I spent the last couple days doing something no one told me about. Cleaning! I have know idea why I decided to take it through the mud knowing I haven't put any inner fenders in it. Well lesson learned. Now the fenders are in.

Ha yup i need fenders too.
I have a build going now in the ascender section. Nothing like this though!

Something about leafs and a hard body just... its awesome. And with a scale engine and drivetrain?
With interior this is going to be hard to beat!

Thanks man. Trying to make it as scale as possible. You should build one. You'll enjoy it.

yeah i would love to once I'm done with... what seems like the "infinity build" lol trying to finish the ford, then i promised my son we would work on a pair of drifters for us.

oh and i checked out that RC Channel website. those rod ends are AWESOME! nice CC01 axle kit too. much more scale than the "other" kit for the CC01. i like that chassis for the solid rear/IFS combo. only downside is the bathtub frame.

not sure if i would do a scale build on one of these TF based chassis, or a GCM CMAX. both have awesome potential, and no matter what i do it will have a scale motor/trans.

thanks for inspiring me!

My first build attempt was one of those "infinity builds". That's why it's sitting in a box in the corner now. Was taking too long to come together. So I set out aside and started a new build. Glad I did.

I'm happy you find my build inspiring. But it's you who inspires me. Knowing that you're following my build so closely inspires me to be a better builder. Can't have you following me and in building crap lol

My rig was missing something. Then I realized most old trucks around my area has a long ass cb antenna flopping around and now mines does too. Made it from a trx-4 antenna. Just cut the big coil section out and added a more scale looking spring. Also final mounted the front bumper to the body use L-tabs I made it out of thin sheet metal but after my drive I think I'm going to need something stronger. Did a little hill climbing. Well hill roll overs cause I rolled the truck way more times then I climbed the hill. 20 rolls- 2 successful climbs LOL!!! Found an old hunting path that made a good trial. Lots of ruts from the hunters tires and old fallen trees. All and all it was a good run until I lost one of my front SSD scale lock hubs. Glad I carried a spare wheel nut with me. And I thought I broke a leaf spring but upon inspection the leaf mount hoop has bent open and came from around the mounting screw. Don't know how that happened but it was an easy fix.

The rock stompers are the perfect tire on that truck, awesome choice!

Thanks. I bought a set of 1.55 ground hawgs but once I seen the rock stompers on it I knew they were the right ones for this build
