Paging Dr. Leo...Paging Dr. Leo... The patient is ready for surgery.......

Lol. That's what was in my head this morning when I got home from work and setup to do what I've been thinking about all night. Well fast forward hour and a half later and I can say surgery was a success. Now Ole' Heavy is a crew cab dually. Just have to stitch him back together. Used 1/2 inch steet square tube to stretch the rigs total lengthy to a 25 INCHES!!!! I'm going to love driving this truck. Ok enough talk here's the new crew cab Ole' Heavy. Tell me what you think.

Finally got the frame extensions securely connected and the drive shaft extension figured out. I used a carrier bearing I had laying around. Its a good thing that since I started in the hobby I've been collecting parts I see that I like. Guess I'm a parts hoarder lol. But anyway. Soldered a bracket onto theframe extensions to hold the carrier bearing. Cut down a extra drive shaft I had to connect the divorced transfer case to that carrier bearing. As you can see I made sure there was nothing hanging belowthe frame for maximum clearance. This time I made sure I put thread locker on everything. Took Ole' Heavy out for a little test drive and everything ran smooth. Glad to have my old friend up and running again.

Whoa it's evolving!
Crazy man you just went for it and it turned out bitchin! The carrier bearing is sweet I would never have thought of that. Where did you get it?

Thanks man. I had to do it. I seen all these guys building crew cabs on my Facebook page and I always wanted one, so I just went for it. Turned out better than I expected. Still gotta do some tinkering to get the bed mounted straight but it's a crew cab now. I bought a few carrier bearings off eBay when I first start in the hobby. Was just buying parts that I might need in the future. Well the future is now and I'm glad I bought them.

Great build! I really like the motor mounts you fabbed up, I was just thinking about how to make some for my FJ40 build.

Do you do any styrene work? I just started to play around with styrene and I've been surprised by how easy it is to make scale parts. I've seen other peoples amazing work with styrene and always assumed it would be hard to get good results but its pretty simple.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks man. Yes I've worked with styrene in the past. My first thing I every made it off styrene was a Cummins 6bt turbo diesel. The engine housed a electric motor and a 3:1 planetary gearbox inside. Been debating whether or not I should put it in Ole' Heavy. Think it would look good. But that V8 looks good on there too

Wow that Cummins looks amazing, very detailed down to the fuel lines!

Ok now I'm back to feeling like a styrene noob lol

I was a noob when I made the engine. That was my first styrene project. If you just research, plan, and take your time you can make some amazing things with styrene. Give it a try

I couldn't agree more... but.. what if a Detroit s50 somehow popped in there? I think it would give land yatch a whole new meaning.

did a real good job detailing the cummins. I think I need to give a motor build a try.

Thanks guys. Still a hard decision. That diesel would look great under the hood but it would take some serious modifications and fabricating to get it to fit in the frame rails and fitted to the transmission.
