Even tho the front bumper looks good. I know I can make it better. Bigger and better. I stated with a 1" seek square tube that I cut and bent to make the main part of the bumper. Then added a lip at the bottom to give it some shape. Cap the ends off with steel plates. Them came the task of adding that push bars. I cut slots in the bumper, which was scary because they had to be straight... no exceptions. Cut some thick steel to make the push bar side plates then used square brass tube as the bars. Think it came out looking better than I expected. You can tell the size difference between the bumpers. You can also tell how my metal skills have gotten better lol.

I like the old bumper better but the new one looks more period correct. Looks good.

Thanks. The old one was nice but this bumper is what I wanted from that beginning. I just didn't have the skills and patience to make it til now.

When I saw the first pic, it looked like you blew the front axle or dropped the pan, it looked like oil splatter all over the front bumper ,... then I remembered it was a scale truck

Lol it does look like oil but it's just water. Trained yesterday so it was really wet out

Lol it does look like oil but it's just water. Rained yesterday so it was really wet out. Glad you mistaken it for a 1:1. That means I'm building it right

Maybe that’s an Alberta thing? LOL. You know when you follow a truck on a road and the front & rear axles aren’t aligned because the frame is twisted? Like they are offset - like how a dogs legs are when they run?

Just is typical of an old truck that’s been run hard.

whenever i see that i just think its a bad alignment.
i mean it kinda is, never thought it could be a twisted frame but it makes sense.

this truck is looking BEAST! glad you stuck with the 1.55's. the 1.9 looked ok but 1.55 almost always look better on these, imo.

Old SFA GM's always looked more dog-legged than they really were because the rear axles (on a SRW) were ~3" narrower than the front.
