| Baja BMW 2002tii
I decided to see what I could create from the leftovers, and it looks like this bizarre little beast will happen. It's all based around a super high-quality lexan replica of a 1973 (or older since it's got round taillights) BMW 2002tii, complete with "Pig Cheek" fenders. The wheelbase sits right at 10", so that's kind of where I'm stuck at the moment... I need to figure out link lengths. Chassis is an STRC SWB conversion, with some SCX10ii shock hoops & bits stuck to it. It's currently using some HPI Venture shocks, but it's mainly just for eyeballing things as it goes together; they'll most likely get swapped out for something a bit more scale. The idea for this thing came from some concept art images I'd found while searching for completely different build ideas. It seemed completely irrational & ridiculously weird, so here we are... |

Love when cars get turned in to off-road machines. I'll be watching this build.

I'm waiting on axles to arrive, so doing measurements for the link lengths is what's holding me up at the moment. Unless anyone has link measurements for a 10"/252mm wheelbase on a stock SCX10 skid they'd want to share? |

| Re: Baja BMW 2002tii I found it on eBay, through a seller in Germany, I believe. I checked in my saved list, but apparently he is no longer producing anything. I did, however, find another seller “bumer-bg” who also offers a highly detailed lexan 2002. Honestly wish I’d found this one first, as mine is 2 pieces; main body & front fender/hood/grill sections. So I’ll just have a bunch of scale hardware “riveting” the body together.

If you can make your chassis 225mm, there are still HPI Cup Racer BMW 2002 bodies out there, and some company that I think is called VIP RC Body has a 257mm wheelbase body on FB.

Seeing this reminded me of a old Jalopnik article dealing with a BMW baja rig then a little searching I found this! https://billcaswell.kinja.com/diy-ba...pig-1787944116 Hopefully that gives you heaps of ideas! |

From the article, “At one point a ‘76 Ferrari F1 car(replica?) was going in next to us and they were freaking out that our car would fall off the forklift and roll onto theirs!” Been watching your creation from the first post... all the best with your build and loving everything about it from afar. Love it! |
