Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Very nice work man! And yeah it makes it drive a lot more like its 1:1 heck when it's bouncing and bobbing it looks like the real deal to lol |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Working on some new axles with built in truss and a bit simpler design for the panhard mount and m2 nut retainers for the king pins. On the rear axle I tightened the tolerances for the lockout hubs and added extra material for added strength. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/gh...7jh9ImaMw=w720 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/aZ...65mX2dR4g=w720 |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Well forgot to post a picture of the new housings but their working out nicely! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/QW...in1a30-ng=w720 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/rG...J71BLry9w=w720 Also working on printing out a new set of seats based of the JX trim level seats you can get in the samurai! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/0v...UdEkQ3FHA=w720 |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 oops forgot to update this bad boy but here we go! The seats came out AWESOME and really happy with the end result https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/iE...sFTFmqWxQ=w720 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/oD...1LZTcW2LQ=w720 Also made a new back cover... THIS TIME WITH A OPENING LID! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/tY...SHDfRtFdA=w720 https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/1p...Z6t3PWT7w=w720 Also finally painted the inside of my hood https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Ur...fKNsdF26Q=w720 Currently looking to fix some looseness that's developed in my knuckles and print out a new steering column and steering wheel! then eventually look at getting the front an rear lenses colored more accurately. |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Man, you're seriously designing and printing some desirable components! Awesome axles, seats and trick-truck-tonneau-thing... "thumbsup" |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Thanks man! the cover is based off the rally tops sport cover for the samurai (which I have on my 88 daily driver) Axles have been fun they have 8o KPI and caster though still need to work on getting ackermen closer to right. Seats I'm really really happy with cause those were a pain to scratch make in tinkercad just to get the cushion pads an bolsters somewhat closer to the JX seats I'd LOVE to have in my samurai! |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Great job T Tank, its an amazing build and looks absolutely fantastic!! I'm amazed at what you have done with your skills and a printer. .. "thumbsup" I'm a technological cave man so I'm loving all the new printed parts that are available today for the less talented. |

Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 ok so I have been printing all the files you have in the Thingiverse link and am super excited to start building this. But I've noticed that some of the parts in your build are not in the Thingiverse link. I can't find the front floor section, the "stronger" trussed axles, sport rear cover, transmission assembly, some of the link mounts, and interior detail parts...shifters, e-brake, cup holder, also the windshield insert with wiper arms/blades. Any chance you could add these files to the thingiverse link or email them to me?? I will upload some pics once I start assembling after I get it all printed out. Nick |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 I'll double check through my file list I didn't expect anyone to print the floor if their gonna use their own transmission (cause the one I made has been a slight... pain to print consistently) But I should be able to get almost all the files on thingie in the next couple of days. |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 I’m still really new to the 3D printing world and only kind of play in the custom RC world so I figured I’d just follow your build and see what I could do. I can build a 1:1 all day long but to me that’s completely different than these. I appreciate the files and work you put into them! Nick |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 I added a good bit of the parts so hopefully that gets ya going further just make sure for parts like mounts that you print at higher infil and double check to make sure they'll hold screws without issue. Most of my stuff has been eyeballed on length on the rods an ends but hopefully everything works for ya without to much a hitch. |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Great looking truck! |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Thanks! |

Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Only tricky part might be that idler gear from a losi mini/losi mini LST/exc smash/ but luckily a lot of the old losi 1/18 used the transmission gear parts |
Re: Not as little but still small Suzuki samurai 4x4 Printing and assembly has begun! I still don’t see all the parts in the Thingiverse file though. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...97f3b03a02.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bedb35d862.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5b28bd3d04.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...46135ee8d8.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...954c333147.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a6a73c44f1.jpg And here’s a picture of my 1:1. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ee8cfe871a.jpg Nick Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
