Default Class 0 D90 Build

I am in the process of building a Boom Racing Team Raffee D90 Truck class 0 build for RC4WD East Coast Scale Challenge.

I am modeling this truck off of a one to one truck, so this makes it a little more interesting to see how close I can come.

This is a mock up photo of were I am at now. I took the chassis apart and locktited everything. The electronics are installed. A Hobbywing 1080 esc feeds the Tekin CrawlMaster 45 turn motor. Steering is handled by a JX waterproof servo. The Boom Racing winch is controlled by a Hobby Wing 1060 esc. All of it being put to the ground through Boom Racing 16 hole 1.55 rims on Pitbull AT's 4.19. the shocks are Pro Line ProSpec shocks 90mm.

Hope to be laying down some primer in the next week or two.

I have been working on the truck some lately, it has been 10 years since the last time I used automotive paints. So there are a few mistakes that were made, but overall it is coming out like the 1 to 1 truck that I found in Pinterest.

Still have the interior to work on and the back lights need to be finished, and mounting the doors and mirrors. Plus other bits and pieces. The one big thing that has changed in the drivetrain is that the K44 Ultimate axles are installed. They fit well other than having to use wide hex spacers for the stance.

That looks great - paint came out beautiful. Love the pickup version of the D90.

Looking good, I like that front bumper. Which one is it? I’m putting a regular D90 together for the same event. I’m using the Boom chassis as well. I reworked the panhard bar and steering linkage to get it to set a bit lower. In the stock config the panhard is kind of in the way.

Thank you for the comments, family issues kept me from the build bench for a while. I am working again on the D90 truck and have decided to rebuild my RC4WD D90 to a camel trophy rig also. The Red D90 is going to be first to finish off.

I have made some progress on it and am ready to start on the interior. I am thinking of a nice tan camel color for it. Not sure if it will have lights or not. It is a roller now with working motor and winch. The ESC is a Hobbywing 1080 and motor a Tekin 45 turn, the wimch is controlled by a hobbywing 1060 esc, cheap as the RC4WD and waterproof.

I will try and post more as the build progresses.

Well this build is coming to a close soon. Just a few more details. I am debating whether to put lights in or not.

I haven't run it outside yet deciding on when it will get its first run.

Here are a few photos of it now.

Thanks for looking, will try and get some finished shots soon.

Great looking D90 pick up, Walterf! I'm not really a fan of the pick up version, but this is proportional and not excessive with "scale" trinkets.
