Well with axialfest past and my attention back to the Sami, I got the rear shocks mounts done, the servo mount done, the other door mounted and finally got to test it with some electronics zipped tied into place. All things considered it doesn’t do terrible for a 10” wb leaf spring rig, now onto an aluminum fire wall, dash and floor!

Coming along very nicely!

Might want to try out the new RC4WD Interco Narrow TSL Super Swamper 1.55" (3.74" O.D., new X2S³ Compound):

https://www.rpphobby.com/product_p/rc4z-t0182.htm

Similar look, but toothier and stickier than the good ol' Rock Stompers...

Thanks! But I’ll probably end up using the pitbull braven berserker 1.55s, I’m running the 1.9s on my element and they are insane on the granite

Keeping on this rig this week really pushing out some progress. Picked up my bench seat and cooler from a friend today and got the seat all in. Here’s how I did it.
So I planned from the start on hiding my battery under the bench. So here’s how it sat just on top of the battery so based my box off the battery leaving some breathing room for ease of install
from there I set bench on top, lined out the box onto it, and unbolted the box from floor pan. Remember when you do this you need atleast two locating marks across the outline marks on each edge to ensure you’re setting it back exactly-good habit to form. Once pulled off I marked the hinge locations on seat and box, drilled and installed hinge, then reinstalled the whole thing back into truck
And here’s how it looks inside and With battery still need to make panels to cover those ugly openings. My buddy who printed the seat really knocked it out the park with the dimension I gave him . Next I decided to bend up a trans tunnel, of which the compartment of will have a very neat and clever use too be shown tomorrow if I get it done. and that’s all for today!

Small update but don’t have a lot of time to work on this today so here’s what I got done. I needed a way to operate lights. And I needed a shifter, so some 3/16 aluminum tubing and one toggle switch later, this is what I came up with
All I did was shaved the actual toggle down, and slipped the tube over, the shift knob is a ball end from a helping hand soldering jig.

Got done with my job faster then expected and got back onto this, decided the shifter didn’t sit right in correlation to driver so shaved it down and did tcase levers then decided to get the initial primer on the body, and paint the seat, while that was drying I got the fuel cell and cooler mount fabbed up, all that’s left now is front shock towers, and I can tear it all apart to completely weld it up, and metal finish all the joints, and finish interior.here’s how it sits now.

Did some additional bracing behind the seat to add in points to weld to for cooler mounting tomorrow I’ll get to those shock mounts.

Ok so today I made the steering column and got that installed and some generic shock mounts I made from some strap I had laying around. . U as far as construction of the column, I used a knuckle sleeved brazed onto the back of steering wheel for the offset and mounting. Then I epoxied a m3 threaded insert into a piece of 1/4” brake line, left offset to have a “bearing” reveal. This is what I used the indicator is just a piece of unknown gauge remnant wire, I drilled a 1.5mm hole into column and used shrink wrap for the knob. That’s all I got done today. Don’t mind the bumps on the body. The guy that printed did a quasi piss poor job and I’m soaking it in primer to sand it all back out smooth. All that’s left now is sliders and tear it all apart for finish welding and grinding. Still contemplating how I’m going to attach hood.
and did a relief in bench to clear trans tunnel when lifting up for battery but looks natural and worked well also got a chance to clean up my pig stye Of a bench that’s all for now!

Got my new wheels and tires in and got to do a light testing on them. 1000% better then the tsls. Got some marlin crawler 1.7/iroks for 60 bucks- what a steal! Too bad you can’t post video because the truck actually doesn’t perform to terrible all things considered. Also slightly changed the lower rear shock mounting and squeezed a bit more flex out of it got around to shaving the shackles down and got it on the scale, 7.2 pounds! Heavy little rig

So, It actually wheels not to shabby all things considered. So I’m riding home right now with of my teammates( TEAM DPC) from the ASD AAC19 took the Sami out and did all the trails they had prepared for the event, didn’t get a ton of pictures but got a couple and here’s one of me, living my best life

Well coincidentally the cause of that sticker isn’t a guy named Steve- but every group has a Steve lol.
