| Croc hunter CFX
After the local track closed, I found myself a bit bored and started looking for a new crawler project since I wouldn't be racing anymore. I found an unbuilt MST CFX in the classifieds (thx txbart!) and built it up. Only mods in the beginning were brass pivot balls, bearings and alum steering links. Great build, MST plastics are wonderful and the kit went together nicely. I wasn't too crazy about the mog body it came with so I started poking around, the sumo looked promising but I found a deal on a new radio shack croc hunter. Took a little bit of trimming since I didn't want to cantilever the rear shocks- Here's how it looked once mounted up- Took it out for a trail run, it wasn't particularly capable but really fun and turned on a dime. Lets play "lower the CG"! First up, I swapped the 27t motor for a HH trailmaster 35t then set about moving the electronics to the side so that I could lower the body. I had to notch the front of the body to clear the bumper which I flipped to the top to improve the approach So- electronics moved, body lowered. I rolled the dice on some 1.55 Injora beadlocks and tires from amazon. Added an once of lead to the fronts, gotta say I'm impressed with these for the price. Just bombing around in my yard, it already seems more capable, and less tippy. Next up some scale details and interior work... |

Great build. I've got the same body. I used mine on a cc01 build. The body just sits in a box now. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk |
