Default Scale Chevy K10 Chassis Build, Clod Body

Hi, new to the group but have been playing with crawlers for about a year.
Decided i wanted to build a scale K10 chassis to go under a Clod Buster body.
I found a drawing online, scaled it to fit the Clod body wheelbase and plasmer cut a test chassis

Once i was happy with the design i started to make it out of 1/2" box section.
I cut and welded it till it was the right shape, normalised it in a kiln overnight, cut it in half then ground it flat.

Thought I'd have a quick go at making a stainless steel bumper. Not bad for an hour's work. Now I'll take my time and make the propper one.

I like the 5 slot wheels, reminds me of the trucks I saw when I was growing up, leaf suspension with coilless shocks looks good too. I especially like that rear crossmember where the shocks bolt to

I second the 5 slot wheels, definitely go perfect with a squarebody Chevy

Are you going to keep or remove the intake on the hood? IMO, I think taking it off would look better.

Yea going to remove the intake. This is just a mock up body. Planning to get a new shell to delete the intake and lower the bed floor as it's too high. Guessing it was to accommodate the clodbuster chassis.

ahh okay.

You have some great equipment to work with, which will make this a very cool rig!

Cheers. Yea I work at a University so have lots of equipment at my disposal. The wheels and motor mount will eventually be 3D sintered in aluminium once the designs are finalised

Great project so far man! I vote slot mags also.

Funny deal with the slot mags is I have like 5 sets IRL in 4,5 & 6 lug and from 13x5.5" to 15x10" and have had more years ago that I sold here and there but I have one set that I've never had that I seem to miss out on every few years, 8x6.5" bolt pattern in 16.5x9.75 or 16.5x12" I either dont have the money when they pop up forsale or I have the money and search for weeks never to find a set. I'm currently in the former situation where I have started seeing few sets but no $$. I think I might have to end up buying a set for RC just to pacify myself lol. Sorry if I missed it but whats info on the ones you got there? Like home printed job or send away for them type of deal?

Didn't like the shallow bed on the clod body so made a new one.
