My Kidnap Van build

Here's my first 1/10 build. 3d printed van body on a Reely Freeman chassis. Designed and printed some arch flares, spoilers and window louvres and made some steel bumpers and rocksliders. Now the painstaking process of sanding and painting 3d printed parts.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3f30c8c578.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...39b612bd8d.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...30db3c2e5d.jpg

That is one impressive 3d print. I've always wanted a van in my collection but have never been happy with the body options available. Nice work. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Looks good. Not nitpicking don’t get me wrong but the front flares- what would they look like tapered towards the body/terminating closer to the grill? They almost look like rear fenders on a Baja bug in current form. Not bad, just a little off imo. Like said it’s hard to be critical when someone has started such an awesome build, just an idea.

I love it! Very nice work! Agreed the front flares look a bit odd up front, but overall it looks fantastic!

Yea I agree they need a bit of a fettle. Going to round the corners off and blend them in a bit.

I like it. You didn’t steal that Wet Dream on Wheels from Jungle Recon did you?

This is really impressive and much better than the proline van body I picked up several months ago. I still haven’t committed on what paint scheme or theme to go with on it so it has sat there since. The overall shape, style and design of your printed version is exactly what I had hoped the proline body would look like When I first heard they were coming out with a van buddy. Great job!

I must’ve missed this release. I’ve always wanted an old Free Candy van crawler. I’ll be looking into this today. Be pretty cool if it’d fit my parking lot basher. Be a good reason to fix it finally and definitely be the A-Team van then.

Schemes: Free Candy, A-Team, and above mentioned Wet Dream on Wheels.

Cheers. Yea I was disappointed with the proline one too. Proportions are all wrong. I bought the basic body off a guy in kit form and glued it all together. Made all the extras myself. He said it took him 120 hours to print!

Wow. That seems like a lot of print time.

Cheers guys, gotta admit I'm pretty chuffed with it So far. Still can't decide on paint tho. Rat/rusty, all black or something like pale blue or beige?

Love me a retro tv vehicle but just can't do it. Too obvious for me. I'm thinking "free baloons" on the side with Pennywise driving

Even as an adult I cannot watch It all the way through. I’ve never been a fan of clowns and It was the epitome of it for me. I remember as a small kid going to a traveling circus. The clowns and trapeze people were just outright creepy.

Penny Wise... :lmao:

Incredibly cool van body. "thumbsup"
As top heavy as that's gonna be though, I think I'd go for the street ride and keep it low to the ground.
