made a front servo/link mount. made the side mirrors able to fold in using a trick I read here (fishing wire+rubber band) so that they spring back into position. installed the creatacrawler beadlocks. made tow rope installed trans/motor body-on photo, body not mounted yet. ![]() |

AMAZING truck. Being kinda new to the scalers I was wondering where you get the smaller diameter tires and wheels. I run an Axial Scorpion and the wheels and tires are way to big for a build like this. |

| ![]() you can get 1.9 size tires and wheels practically anywhere. For wheels look at 26mm (wide) touring car wheels in 1.9 size. stock car wheels are popular too. for tires just look for 3.7" tall (vs some taller tires) 1.9 tires from any of the vendors here-rc4wd has the rock crushers which are taller, trail doctors are what you see on mine, mudslingers from rc4wd in 1.9 are popular too.

made a platform for the electronics to sit above the trans/motor. made the inverted post body mounts. still need to solder the wires to the motor, sleeve the links, set the ESC, mount the antenna support, mount the body, charge the battery and check the wheelbase with the chassis fully weighted down (which looks like its spot on now). front 3/4 view ![]() rear 3/4 view ![]() front 3/4 view low showing mock up of the body attachment. upper half gets glued to underside of body ![]() spring loaded mirrors fold back ![]() detail shot of electronics platform ![]() rig is heavy. tires look like they're aired down for some 'wheelin... ![]() I am missing a ball end connector (gold ball end that has threaded hole all the way through it). Comes in the TLT kit for the standard assembly of the axles. Anyone have one? I need it for my steering as I have a bit too much slop. Last edited by pantablo; 03-02-2008 at 12:38 AM. |

well, while the body mounts on the underside of body were setting I took the body-less chassis out to the back yard rocks and it seems much more capable than my gwagon. It took a line up and over with ease that my gwagon struggles unsuccessfully to get over. Might be different with the body weight on it but I was amazed. Managed to get it stuck and popped the driveshaft yoke from the diff tongue, just like I used to do on the gwagon when it was new too. A function of the steep driveshaft angle and short wheelbase I think. Regardless, I'll fix this same as on the gwagon-drill through the tongue and through bolt the yoke. Still lots of little things to do but its pretty much done. Look for video and outside pics shortly, lol... ![]() |
