This should be an amazing build, most deff. Going to subscribe to this one! Any initial thoughts when you saw the axles? I may be doing a 1.9 build my self and those look like some really nice axles. Last edited by clod freak; 02-26-2008 at 01:16 PM. |

get converted to black to get rid of the street chrome. I've done a more detailed axle review with additional pics that should get posted on the front page some time. Jay | |

Got some more tube work done. Trying the Hilux shock collars for the upper rear shock mounts. Turned off the little ball area and fish-mouthed the backside so I could braze it to a chassis tube. Jay |

Got some work done on the steering box with dropped pitman. Uses one of the splined Hilux shafts and servo arms (a little bulky but will be under the front clip). Small spacer also used inside but not shown. Pitman is 16 gauge steel tapped for 3mm screw. Jay Last edited by roktoy; 03-03-2008 at 07:10 AM. |

Do you think flex will be an issue with the plastic part? IIRC, miniwheeler had flex problems on his formula toyota with a steering box.

I wonder if this rig will end up having the legacy that Ralph does? Nice rig man! Love it so far.

Mine is a little different in that only the one servo arm is plastic. The pitman and "steering box" are metal and seem to be fairly rigid. I'll also be running a lighter truck with smaller tires. I think I'll give it a go an see how it works. Quote:

For wheels, how about putting on some Landies from RC4WD? They look great on the Crushers, and the Hilux.
