I started making the grill for this rig. I used some .090 aluminum I had laying around. The overall shape is done, headlights & park lights are cut out. I'm trying to figure out the best & most consistant way for me to cut out the grill slats. I'm not making 7 because I can't make the outer ones since they curve around the headlight. So I'll cut out 5 or 6 slats. I'm trying my hand and the drill 2 holes at each end and dremel out the center method on a peice of scrap, that if it turns out good I'll cut it out for a spare grill.

Got my Tcase in the mail the other day. Eritex baby Atlas, it should work well under the race interior. Other than the new part I've got nothing to show you

Picked up a set of 5 DarkSoul racing Scale wheels yesterday the parts are slowly coming together. Just need to order up some more tube and start bending.

I like it!!! The hood must have been a bear to bend up? I've seen those grills b4 somewhere, hmmm?.... I bought some small sheets metal pieces to make a truck bed for the FJ. .66 cents apiece, cheap!

I'm finishing up a friends rig for him then I'll be back to workin on this rig. It's definitely still going to get done. I want to have a grill waterjet but I'm not sure what it'll cost. I've got some of the tube work ready to notch and tack in place but really want to finish my friends project before I continue. Stay tuned this will most likely be the 1.9 scale comp rig for next season.

Looking good Dave. Can't wait for next season to come so I can see this thing in action.

Thanks I'm kinda thinking the beltline is a bit low. I wish some of the veteran guys would chime in.

Looks good cause I like to match the tube to the body lines. The front doors aligned to the front fenders look good to me. Once you have panels and gussets installed you wont notice the giant window opening

The grill was made at an old job of mine. It was laser cut out of 3/16" white acrylic. It's about 3/8" to narrow. I'm going to see if I can get the file and have them waterjet out of aluminum a tad larger. That way they'll fit the Proline hood perfectly. Which is what I've designed this rig after.

So I'm bit undecided on what to do with the spare tire. Should I mount it angled forward, backward or flat. I'd like to do either a small cage to hold the tire just past the end of the chassis or a ratchet strap type mount. Has anyone made a ratchet strap for RC yet?

I'd angle it forward, get it as far out of the way as possible.

I've seen a couple of ratchet straps in scale, can't remember if they were functional or not.

Beltline looks good to me, but I'd throw a brace in the middle of the windshield. Good to see you back.

I should have plenty of room to run it angled forward(prerunner style) depending on how I do my rear shock mounts. For some reason I love how KOH rigs have their spare tires mounted like it was an afterthought. that being said the engineer in me has to come up with a mount that looks the part and keeps weight low.

I'm also thinking maybe some larger rubber is in order. I'll try my Rok Lox when Mugsy comes back from the electrican who's wiring up some trick LED's. But I'm liking the TTC Baja Claws, whatcha think?

The windshield brace was done last night. I'm going to work on it more.......
right now!
