Thanks I can't wait either but haven't had any kid free time to build the last 2 days. Maybe tonight I can make progress.

Nobody has any opinions on what tires to run?

If you have not bought any yet these RC4WD Super Swamper TSL Bogger work great.

I bought these Proline Swampers but they look slightly small on here. I'm digging the TTC Claws so those maybe the tires of choice. These Swampers may fit better once the body panels are done. I picked up Proline Powerstroke shocks today so things are moving forward.

I dunno, the TSL's do look a bit small, but I love the way they hook up. And smaller means a lower CG, which you're going to need with all that tube (or is it solid rod?) up there.

I hear ya, the TSL's look & hook up great. I'm gonna run them for now and see how it performs. The cage is all 4130 Cromoly tubing.

So it's now 3:15am and I just spent 4 hours building the engine cage, shock hoops and hood mount. I also welded up the rest of the chassis. I still have some stuff to add but it's getting closer. I'll take, upload and share some pics later, I'm gonna go pass out now.

Ok here's the pics from early this morning. I've always loved seeing shock hoops peeking thru the hood so I made it happen here on my Dream Jeep.
I also installed the new Proline Powerstroke shocks. These things are beautifully made. Anyway on to the pics

Here's the body off of the hoops and so called engine cage. Once I decide on my drivetrain I'll add some cross bracing.

Looking great Dave, your tube work has always blown me away. You are right the Power-Strokes are nice shocks I just picked up another set for my latest build. Come on you can do better for that front body mount. Bill

Thanks Bill, body mounts have always been my nemesis, once I make my final grill and alum. hood I'll figure out something better. I'm using this hood & grill for build.

Sweet, they look badass from what I've seen, how do they work for you?

I tried them in loose dirt and gravel and with a 18.5 on 3s lipo i was burring myself. I guess I don't have to worry about wheel spin now But when I was on some rocks they gripped nicely.

Well I picked up a RPM light bar today and made some tabs and got it mounted up. Now I just need to figure out the drivetrain dilemma.

Thanks man, You have built some nice stuff yourself. I'm gonna run it as is and may try different rubber later on. I personally think the tires fit it more realistically than something else would. When designing the size of the cage I took measurements off my 1:1 CJ7 so it should be pretty accurately sized.

I'm really torn between using a divorced setup with an Eritex T-case, which I wish had some mounting tabs, or going the better performance route and run in the stock location. The divorced setup would get an interior with Recaro seats, the stock setup would get a lexan interior to cover the guts.

Any words about performance of a divorced setup?

TorqueMaster is on it's way. My body panels are in the works, paint is here just need to make 10-12 tabs to hold them in place. Fun stuff.
