Thumbs up cartrronicshn's pajero metal top

I bought this kit from Corey at Rpp , great deal , i am not sure what i will do next, right now i will build it stock with a 55t motor and the stock esc, i will see how it looks with the stock rubber while i wait for proline to come out with their 1.9.
The box

The components

Getting ready for assembly, just a regular cc 01 chassis

Chassis assembled and my cc-01 fj cruiser nearby for reference

More to come tomorrow

Getting there, chassis suspesion and electronics are all in, i have to think about the body color, but for now i think i am going with red on top and semi metallic grey on the flares and bottom rocker panels , for the mitsubishi stocker look. Open to suggestions though

A little more progress, i went with pactra metallic red , the red is actually a little lighter then on the pics, i will get some shots of it when it's finshed in sunlight, now pics of the painted parts, all that is left is paint the metallic grey and some details to finish this lid, i am not the greatest painter btw.

Thanks for the comments, i finished the grey rocker panels, i will have to do some filling in around the flares were i missed some spots because the painters tape was on to thick around that area, i am not the best at painting lol, anyways i should have finished pics later today, as for the suspension in the rear, i will leave it stock for a while.

Thanks nascarkeith, so i added some lights and started to paint some details, did i mention i suck at painting, anyways i still have to add stickers and finish detailing it(more like cleaning the mess i made) i have driven it a couple times and i had forgotten how nice the stock cc 01 drives, it's really smooth, anyways here are the pics and i will have a video of it on the rocks by the weekend

These leds are really bright, i got these from TwistedXT

Some led video.

Looks nice, almost the same colors as my Trooper. BTW, why is it called a metal top?

Interesting theory but I don't recall the Pajero ever having a soft top to begin with.

Thanks for the comments guys, as for the name it's probably a tamiya thing, i have no clue, it's actually a "metaltop wide", was there a narrower version? :?. stormin, the color combo is very similar to the 1:1 ones we received down here, i will try to post pics later on, i messed up on the detailing of the tailights , i wil fix them and i will post pics.

The colors are great together and you did a nice job of laying it down.

Kool, I saw one of these the other day and was gonna buy it but when I went back it was gone :-(:-(

In NZ most Pajero's had factory fitted sunroofs both front and rear hence the name metal top, there was 2 versions of sunroofs ( large moon roof and smaller personal sunroofs ) I would have hated to roll over in one. The wide part in the title means more roof then glass there would have been at the least 6 inches of metal from the edge of the sunroofs to the rolled edge of the roof line. Just a bit of useless information for you
