Default k2-5 Tamiya Jeep

I loved the K2-5 that I built up for the Big Dumb Hilux but I'm just not in to 2.2 scale. Scale=1.9 I did think though that one would work perfectly for a build I have been wanting to do for some time now. I picked up a Tamiya Jeep body, a little rough but that was good because I don't feel bad running it. It got a fresh coat of paint and was ready to go.

I've had to do some modifying of the chassis. I hope I'm done now but it might need a little more. I cut some of the chassis off both sides. TIP; if you need to cut a K2 chassis, use the cut off section as a template to redrill the holes.

I was in the LHS today and saw some 10mm Axial posts which worked perfectly to mount the tamiya shocks to.

I wanted to have the steering chassis mounted. The most simple way I could come up with was mounting it to the front cross member with the servo mounts from the Axial kit. I need to raise the steering link on the knuckle a bit but right now there is practically no bump steer and a spacer should take it all out.

The body still needs to be mounted and bumpers are a must.

Cool, I've been wanting to re-build my YJ and actually picked up a K2-5 to do it with...

Thanks for the inspiration.

BTW, I have an extra YJ window set if you ever need one

Thanks, I think the chassis works perfectly. I'm hoping to get the body mounted in the next day or two. I'm good on windows, if anyone has the tail lights please let me know.

OK, I saw them on the site but they are backordered. :-( I will have to call Cory. Can you please tell me a few things about them?

Are they dished on the backside as well like a real steal wheel?

Do you think you could add a scale beadlock to the lip of the rim?

Are they anodized or painted?

Can you please get a few more pics of the wheels alone or up close with good light?

I would really appreciate it.

They come with 3 offsets for different width, I used the most narrow. I would be difficult to get a beadlock rim to stay on im my opinion because the lip is very narrow. They are anodized. I might be able to get pic in a couple of days.

Ok, i will quit buggin you, but is there any way that these would git Axial hexes? From what little I can find they look like the kind that take the pin on the wheel, and not the hex. Is this right?
