By any chance has anyone tried putting the Bruder Unimog body on a ta02 chassis? It looks like it's just a little too wide, and with a little wheelbase extending you could have the wheelbase match. I was just wondering how much a set of boggers on HPI rims would stick out and if I could extend the wheel wells enough to cover them. I would try it myself but I don't have a TA02 chassis laying around to try it on. I appreciate anyone who can give me some insight into this. Edit: What about using a standard car chassis from Tamiya? could the suspension height be raised to that of their F150 race truck ta02 chassis? I really just want to make a trail truck to beat on with this unimog body Last edited by mr.allthat; 06-06-2008 at 02:30 PM.

I don't know anything about unimog bodies or what brands of them are made. Is this a bruder body?

Nope, is it a bruder? I found that pic and a bunch of others on some foreign, scandanavian maybe, site that had a bunch of TA02 builds. All of them were those cabover unimog type trucks. I couldn't remember where I found them but did find it on my harddrive.

Burder makes those old unimogs : orange http://brudertoys.com/product_info.p...d=393&cPath=21 or green http://brudertoys.com/product_info.p...d=394&cPath=21 here's their complete pro-series line up: http://brudertoys.com/index.php?cPath=21 ![]() but it's only 6.1" wide it must be the reason why people go with the ta02 ,even the TLT axle should be too wide for the body I've built a truck with a bruder cab last year that was 17.5cm wide and it was huge to fit the body, I had to make home made wheels with negative offset http://silverridge71.chez-alice.fr/0MAN/man4.jpg http://silverridge71.chez-alice.fr/0MAN/man8.jpg the bruder body can be recognized to their roof trap on all their models that can be changed in option by a light kit or horns & sirens the tamiya chassis can be raised a lot just put longer shocks it could be necessary to dremel the inside of the knuckles for keeping the dogbone driveshaft works here is an example on a tl01: http://silverridge71.chez-alice.fr/0...l01/jeeep5.JPG http://silverridge71.chez-alice.fr/0...l01/jeeep6.JPG now it's modified it has a bit more clearance than my preruner ta02 good luck for your's Last edited by SilverRidge; 06-07-2008 at 02:03 AM.

Thank you those were very good responses. I think I'll try and pick up a chassis and lift it up. Just gotta find one that works and isn't too pricey as I'm also buying parts for an x-trail based hilux build for my roommate.
