I know, I know.:-P I just couldn't wait. I'll be using an AX-10 tranny and axles. From there, I am undecided. I make my own frame for it. Heres a pic of the body.

You'll have a great time- I really wanted to use the body in a build, but there are just too many projects lined up as it is.

have fun!

A quick mock up. The wheelbase is so short, I think I need to use a different frame.

yeah, the x-trail is set up for 11" wb as the shortest it will do properly. In the pics though it looks like the wb is dead on. only issue I think you'll have with the xtrail is shock setup, to get them at a good angle.

Looks like a nice set of parts. Should be a good build.

Yeah, I'm not opposed to drilling new holes to mount the shocks, or making my own mounts. But if I do all that, I might as well use a different frame. I was thinking a reign K2-3S. I might try making my own too. It would be my first!

Or just shorten the links and use the current chassis you have

Thats what I did for the mock up. I'm not real happy with it. I puts the links at a very sharp angle. The Xtrail isn't made for a wheel base this short. I'll give it a try, I already have this chassis.

the links dont look bad. it goes with the territory (of a short wb). Its doable. Both my rigs are 10.5" wb and my links look like that. they perform fine. driveline is steep too on mine but it works fine too.

but look at your shocks-they're pointed away from the center of the rig (looking at the side). The rears should be slanted forward, the fronts slanted back but they do the opposite. This is the issue with the xtrail on a shorter wb. You could fab up some shock mounts and call it a day though.

I deside to scrap the Xtrail for this project. (it forsale in the Forsale section) I'm going with a K2-3S. I think it will work out alot better.
No updates untill I get the new chassis.:-(
