Default Ta02 LR3

There have been a couple of LR3 builds so far but not many are full indy setups. This has been my project during last semester in between work/school/climbing and my first scale build. But enough of the BS on with the show...

Specs:

Hardware:
Ta02 Indy axles
Aluminum Chassis plate
Hpi wheels
Rc4wd Slingers 1.9
New Bright LR3 body

Electronics:
Mamba 25
CC Bec
3 cell A123 batt
Hitec HS-645 MG servo
Lathe/Revolver <--------Depending on my mood

To do:
Lights, other scale items

The fun stuff:

Braking, look at that nose dive!

Do the pictures work? I am not very good at posting those

Thanks,

That looks great, and very real because it has independent suspension all around like the real thing. You should do a G4 theme.

I am a horrible painter, so I will probable just leave it silver. An exo would be cool but I don't have the tools or skills to fabricate one. Thanks for the compliments!

A winch is in the works!

I see. I've never painted before, but I will have to soon with my Pajero body. I used to have that body on an XC, and it looked good that way being silver and black. Let's see that winch.

Well, she was running great and this happened. I toasted my little Mamba 25:

I am pretty sure it was my fault, I was running it on the brushed mode with fairly high voltage. These Mamba 25 are such tough little esc's but I think I am going to get a Sidewinder or Max to replace it.

So RIP my little Mamba 25, you were a great little esc!

Servo winch is still in progress, I need to find a little drum and finish glueing the potentiometer in the servo. Then I'll work out the mounting issues.

ditto.. so i just picked a new one up!

Just a thought - i see your motor in the stock location meaning that you are running the stock gearing. you could remover the drive shaft from the front axle to the rear and install a tranny like a pede or something, this would give you the ability to gear it WAAAAY down and make it crawl better! just an idea thats what a couple of us are doing

ie, Keith on Scale4x4.org's Hummer rig

hey there

I have a similar (much uglier) rig. I have a really hard time gearing it. It jumps great, but its way too fast to crawl.

Did yu find a way to slow yours down post stock lowest gear set?

Lowe's, HomeDepot, any street corner, just don't get caught.

Nope, most everything to do with turning these touring cars into scale offroad vehicles is custom. The good news is that it's pretty easy to make this type of chassis. I've made them from cutting board and 1/8" aluminum. If you have a hacksaw and drill you should be good to go.

By the way, nice rig Lextronics.

I like that hummer... looks great.
what fascinates me the most about these cars is.. you can still by the hummer, and yet trying to find parts is near on impossible.
Anyone know a good place to buy parts for TA-01/02 and hummer chassis??
