| ![]() So, I wanted to be REALLY techinical and make a really scale truck. A lot of "scale" trucks dont even hit within the ballpark. This has gotten on my nerves to the point that i am making a truck based on 1.9":15" rim ratio. this comes out to about 1:8th scale. this works for me. I was playing around on the internet with idea and thought of the datsun honeybee. i think it would be HILARIOUS but i noticed something...its hard to get blueprints and/or pics of them that are worth a damn. i also noticed a datsun 620 on the page and thought, hey, no one has done that. so, i look up datsun truck on google and the first thing is the datsun 620 page. PERFECT! i look on the techinical page and there is a simple side view WITH MEASUREMENTS! AWESOME! now, to translate these to paper...hmm...no printer cause im on the laptop. I KNOW! old fashioned way! trace it! i traced it onto some graph paper. at 1:8th scale, the wheelbase is 12.5" and the width is 8". this works out great! at this scale, 1.9" rims are 15's and my 4.5" tall tires are...36"! a little on the tallside for a datsun mini truck but i am sure someone has done it. nothing a little hacking cant help. i was worried about the body being too narrow so i measured my axial axle with HPI stockcar rims and guess what. perfect width! just to see if anyone is reading this, please post "i like to wear silken panties" so i know if you actually read this. your posts matter. if you look at the pics and comment, i will ignore you. no offense. you couldnt take offense anyways due to your lack of reading my longass paragraph. specs are: Depron or Styrene body hand formed by ME! 12.5" wheelbase HPI stock car rims on axial axles giving an 8" track width. axial trans cut n shut flatirons scale stuffs suspension is pretty secret at the moment. SO secret in fact that not even I know what it will be. i guess its about time for the pics. for now, they are JUST some hand drawn blueprints. If you want to know how i drew them pretty accurately, go back and read the big paragraph. ![]() ![]() this last one makes the axle LOOK super wide but really it is just 1/8" wider on each side. i matched it up to the pic i traced and it is almost perfectly scale. it is actually NARROWER than the reference. i'm happy about that ![]() this pic shows how close it really is. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Please leave comments or concerns! | "i like to wear silken panties" looks very good my only concern are those tires are preatty big but if thats how you like it then i can not do anything. imo it would look better with 1.9 |

I couldn't agree more, not many builds take into consideration the actual scale of everything. I look forward to "I wear silken panties" this build, the body is a great idea. Very unique.

"danielk likes to wear silken panties" Nice choice. I grew up with these trucks and they're my favorite from that era. Looking forward to more from you. Building from scratch is awesome.

making my own frame from a piece of 1/2" steel square tubing. then im going to heat it and bend it to shape. then im gonna cut it in half and have two C-channel rails. i guess you could say its bruiser STYLE but not a bruiser.

those damn things are impossible to narrow. i attempted on the spare tread left over from one of the tires. you cant narrow the outside tread blocks and it doesnt work with the inner tread block either.

So, DanielK likes to wear silk panties? That was a little more info than I needed to know. Looks like it will be an interesting build. I think reducing the tires to about 32" (scale) would look better.

okay, so 34" tires is too big? its either that or knock off another 1/2" off the overall height. im NOT gonna do that so 34" it is.

I like to watch girls wear silken panties.I had a real Datsun pickup with a set of 32's on the back.No rubbing at all.Yeah, just on the back.It was a 2 wheel drive and was bright orange with black stripes on the side that said Little Hustler.I think I still have some pic's of it.Don't forget the rust holes in the rocker panels!

I own 3 of these in real life and would die to have a scale version of one. I think there the coolest lookin old school mini truck out there. I found a 1/16 model on ebay but thats all i have ever found :( you should perfect it and make a mold, i would pay big bucks to have a few of these ;)
