Default m715

well i finally got some time to go get some plastic.

i started with the bed because its simple, this is my first real experiance making anything out of this plastic, but anyways if you havnt read the other m715 thread, im going to replicate my own truck. or at leased im going to make it exactly how i want my real one to be.

for the chassis i found some blueprints of a 715 frame, so im making a scale frame.

axles... ive been tossing the idea between the plastic t-rex 60's since my real jeep is a 60 and 70, this way the axles will be scale too... but man oh man those new rc4wd rockwells look sweet.

tranny. i havnt really thought about that too much. maybe the axial with the rc4wd t-case so i can run interior... not too sure though.

rc4wd h1 beadlocks, and the big tires that look like tsl's (forgot the name)

anyways heres some pics

this is what i got done today... i ran out of plastic again. first off.. i think i need a new tailgate, i can make it just like the rest of the bed, i didnt relize when i was making the tailgat just how much i was off on my measurments... hopefully tomorrow i can get more plastic. once the bed is done im going to work on the cab, and right now what needs to be done is 3 more pillers, tailgate, and a tailgate hinge... should be a couple hour job... so its getting close to done...

tell me what you guys think, its all to scale measurements off of my truck. dose it look right?

when building things to fit, just eyeball it. ive never taken measurements unless it was directly off the object i was working on, like i physically placed it on top and marked it. its going well man, if you need any tips or anything give me a holler.

Wait, you are focusing on the 1:1 before the scale build?! That cannot happen, lol. I would pay more attention to the real one as well. But, I do want to see more of the scale build.

yea, i hear you. i just have a dead line to meet with the 1:1, we have a snow wheeling trip that i want to go to in january, so ive been trying to get that going, got on board air now and built a skid plate for the tranny, but anyways, on the 1:10 i did what i could with what plastic i could to make a replica diesel tank and fuel pump in the bed with hose and nossle, but i cant find the camera, but its still going, just trying to find a day to go to the hobby store to get some plastic.

im going to have to pick up sewing just to make the soft top

believe me, im really looking forward to getting more plastic....

so for the drive tran im thinking about using the r2hd tranny with the t-case, or maybe the r2 with disconnect so i can have 2 and 4 wheel drive, and the trex 60's or if i get lucky buy a set of the rc4wd rockwells.
