Default MSD UTE Prototype Re-deux

After MSD Nats and the D90 body I had a few changes on the brain for the UTE. Benders chassis worked really well with the links and I wanted a little change up for this build.

Low and long were the order for the new build and a Subaru Brat was the body of choice. Long and Brat don't go together so I put it in the Styrene stretcher and added a lil bit to it.

For now some teaser shots as I get more done I'll add progress shots. Wife said to paint it old school so the leading thoughts are Rootbeer and Tan. Prolly going to have a friend cut me all the masks for the Brat logo's etc.

Oh forgot to add the front shock and spring were off a Duratrax Mini Vendetta. Was suprised the rates seems to be pretty close we'll see when it is RTR. The rear is TLT with the Vendetta spring. There were 3 rates I got all 3 and the stiffest Dk Green seems to be the ticket.

Thanks for the compliments guys Will be a little bit for the next round but got the building bug again for this thing.

Not to rob your post, but what happened to those chassis? They were supposed to be available after the Nats, then a month or so again, I was told about a week, and still nothing.

Thumbs up

Here is the pic I am working off of for color inspiration right now. Graphics are a year or 3 off but I think they look the best for the font.

UTE Chassis, Last I heard Ben has the chassis parts out for powdercoating. This was about a week or so ago.

Stu, pantablo and Fufu coming from you guys that is a real heads up.....

very nice. i have a brat body i want to do a scaler with, and i have been running into the same issues you did, brat+long= NO-NO....

i can't wait for the utes, i am really glad to see somone making a scale frame for guys running short bodies.

i also like the idea of using links for a brat scaler, being that the original 1:1 brats were 4 wheel indy suspension, and this basically looks like someone just took all of that off and stuck it on an old truck frame....
