Hey Gang...No pics to post yet - but got some more fab work done on the ole' Clampster tonight... One thing that was never quite right with using the TLT axles was the stance.. ( just NOT wide enough to look like the 1:1).. I thought about using axial axles, but this truck MUST use leaf springs, and I haven't seen many ( if any..) axial axle leaf sprung trucks on here... SO I started thinking of alternatives.., then it hit me.., I CAN use the TLT axles, IF I can find some Blackfoot "Extreme" stub shafts...so I hit the "Bay" a few weeks ago, and found a set of 4 and they showed up tonight.., after assembling everything ( Blackfoot shafts, and 2mm spacers..) and checking the stance, it sits PERFECT in comparison with the real 1:1 truck..!! As stupid as it sounds, trying to replicate a REAL 1:1 truck near exact is ALOT harder than I expected it to be...but Clampy is really starting to take shape... I can't wait until its ALL O.D. green..!!! More to come soon....

LOL - No Problem Red - Except Drinking and building one of a kind precision R/C models don't exactly mix all that well.. ( Lived, AND learned that from past projects..!!! ) It'll be water for me while building Clampy, and then Beers for driving the red beater Blazer..!!

Here is the FJ45 I sold to Pigeonfarmboy with Axial axles and leaf springs. That is if you change your mind to use Axial axles...

Another FJ45

If you need any more pictures let me know. I love this build. This was the first truck my boyfriend and I built together. Hopefully the big clampy will get a motor mount and he'll be back on the trail soon.

Hey Leah, THANK YOU so much for those extra "unpublished" pics of Clampy..!! I LOVE this truck..!!! As you guys can see, I'm trying real hard to make this come out as cool as the real 1:1..!!! I'm also glad to hear you guys are enjoying the build..!! More to come real soon..!! Do you think it would be possible the 1:10th and the 1:1 meet someday..??

Heres my buddy Justin's "Piglet" next to MAMA, aka the Warthog..!!!! ( another one of my FAVORITE trucks..!!!)

Sick...just SICK..!!!!
