Hey Guys, there was a pretty good sized scaler GTG this past weekend at an AWESOME place in Western mass called Skinner Mt. ( I've wheeled Clampy there before, and its a total BLAST..! ) There were a TON of AWESOME rigs that also showed up there as well. I Also FINALLY got to see Robbob's "Project Funbuggy" in person and man, its SICK !! Heres some pics- Enjoy Heres a group photo of the trucks that showed up.. And if anybodys interested to see some great pics and video from the GTG, click this link below.. ( the wheelin' vids are Awesome in post #14..!) http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showt...59#post2018359 Last edited by 51WillysJeep; 09-28-2009 at 07:05 PM. |

Thanks Chris. Agreed it was a great day just wheeling around. I have to say this though, all the pictures you have posted of Clampy absolutley doesnt do this truck justice. Clampy is an absolute spot on, its just amazing seeing everything infront of you. Seeing the Chino Clone was Awesome. Since I got into RCs Ive always loved Bruisers and to see something that holds all that history of Crawling was great. The Willy's ..... what can I say. The styrene work, the paint, the detail ... you cant even see a glue smudge on any of the joints. Its just incredible to see something you know started as flat pieces of material. Cant wait to see everyone again. |

Chris thanks, it was awesome to wheel with soo many top notch rigs; like Robbob said, the pictures dont even come close to doing justice to any of your rigs.... especially the uber detailed Clampy |

That was a fun day, can't wait till next trip, too bad last one planned got rained out Was great to have pics with some of the famous scalers, I feel spoiled that I have been able to see some of Chris's and Robbob's scalers up close and even been able to crawl with them, someday maybe I will have a build as nice as theirs,(so who's selling me one) |

Love your truck, hopefully building something similar in the future btw, I used magnets secured in the drivers rear-end, and secured magnets underneath the seats to hold my drivers in.... I know its not exactly a harness, but it makes it so much easyer to remove the drivers! |

I've been away from the rc scene since january due to buying a real 1:1 car and the other day was referred to this thread for rear leaf mounts for the bruiser chassis and tlt axles. Holy hell man you are a maniac! this rig is absolutely beautiful and looking at this build and going over Mike's writeup on the chino clone has really inspired me to get back into the game and really take my time and finish my rig off the right way and as scale as possible. So thanks for that! I went to my LHS last night and you should've seen the kids face behind the counter when I walked up with a huge armful of styrene haha. Keep the pics comin man! Whats next? More for this truck or new project? Also how close are you to Winchester or Arlington MA? My girlfriend lives up there so maybe next summer or this winter if you guys have get togethers I can come up and join and check these badass rigs out!

Hey Guys - Thanks for all the great comments..! "Fred" has been put temporarily on the back burner ( for now) until I get the new shop up and going.. ( just bought a new house and everythings a mess in the basement.... aka the "shop" :?. ) NOT to worry though, Fred will be in the drivers seat before Clampy goes wheelin' again..! |
