Just read through all 34 pages - AMAZING work!! I'm blown away.

Would be awesome to see the 1:10 and 1:1 "meet", seems like the perfect way to wrap up the build...

Count me in as another newbie lurker who found this thread and spent waaaayyyyy too much time reading through the whole thing. Love your attention to detail. I'm a model railroader who is thinking of jumping into scale 4x4 work.

Clampy is an inspiration.

Thanks Guys - and Welcome to RCC..!

Oddly enough, I had the chance to pull the Ole' Clampster out of the mothballs today for a quick little trail test at my new house this afternoon. I found some time over the past week to build a pretty good size rock garden, and figured this should be the truck to give it a whirl first..! Long story short, I somehow ended up grenading the front differential, which ended the run early, but at least I got a few good shots before the carnage - LOL - Oh well - Heres some Pics - Enjoy..!

Looks like I have a "Rocker Knocker"..

And this here is another little project I've been working on over the past few weeks.. Hmm..., can anyone else see where this might be going..??

Ahhhh....Niiiccce. Another 1:1 Clampy styled Yota build !

Clampy still looks great.....and as for the breakage....just look at it like we do with our 1:1's.

It's just another chance for yet another "UPGRADE" !

Nice seeing new pics of clampy. I think you are going to need an RC version of your new project.

Yes amazing build.

I just wanted to let you know that I am using your build as inspiration for a toyota build that I am doing of a newer body style as well.

Thankyou very much for sharing your build.

Thanks Rich, Before I can build a scale version of the "new" 1:1 I NEED to finish the 4Runner you built for me first.. Its been WAYY too long since I've touched it.. I haven't forgotten it though..

Yup, agreed - Already checking around to find who makes the best crossover steering kit..and the bent "Tie-Rod" was like that when I got the truck.. I already have plans for new custom rods with heavy duty heim joints..

Heres one you don't see everyday - Clampy in pieces..

The 3 stock allen head bolts that hold the differentials together in these TLT axles decided to loosen up, digging thier way into the inside of the plastic axle housing. Evidentally not satisfied with a minimal amount of damage, Clampy decided to spit 2 of the 3 bolts out and into the rotating gears which really made a MESS inside..!! Both the pinion and ring gear were missing multiple teeth.. Oh well, just so happens I had an extra set in "stock" so all is well now and Clampy is back, ready to hit the trails again soon.. Now I just need to finish up "Fred" before the first scaler GTG coming up soon at Skinner Mt.- Stay tuned..!!!
