Default First try at a scale rig. FJ Cruiser

Here's what I ended up with.
NIKKO FJ
Axial axles Narrowed
Axial trans
Home made chassis
Old Losi buggy shocks
FX-R Speed control
DXR-3
HPI stock car wheels
Wrangler tires from ??? I want to get Prowler's
Mip front CVD's narrowed
RCP front knuckles and carriers
RCP rear straight axles Narrowed

I like the look, but I need a more realistic looking chassis and shocks.

I really like the track width of the axles. Did you take any pics while you were narrowing the axles? How did you do it?

Default Narrowed Axial axles

Here are a few pics of how I did it. Cut and shape the housing.Make sure it is square becuuse it helps keep the carrier tight and in line. Use alum. knuckles so you can hog out the inside for a better fit.You can keep more material on the housing if you enlarge the inside of the carrier. Cut and grind the axles. You have to use the thicker axles like MIP for the front or RCP for the rear. The screws keep the outer bearing from moving to far inside the housing. You can cut and weld the small shafts, but the thicker ones end up like they came from the factory only shorter.

The tires practically make the truck. Where are they from? Great job on narrowing the axles!

Yep, got one of those flywheels as my spare. I was going to use a whole set on my 1.9 Bronco. But, way too small looking..

Looks good on yours man.

Default FJ tire update

I bought a set of prowler ties. They work very well. They might not look as good as the flywheels, but I would rather have a little fun crawling over my rocks in the back.

Default Any company going to step up?

Hmmm. I get so frustrated looking at these great ideas and thinking why doesnt someone sell these! Many just make the same OEM tired parts in purple blue red. Why not be a real new to market company.

I saw one guy with a 150K cad CNC insane, making replica parts of OEM axial etc..... WHY????? same effort to make WANTED PARTS!!!!!!

NARROW AXLES!!!!! VOTE ME IN.
